Re: Sarimento
I know BFC are not great at spelling but this how they spelled it on the website. Sky pundit called him Sarimento after he scored though

Re: Sarimento
It’s Sarmiento, but the announcer had trouble with that when he came on for some reason. I think he called him Sarimento?

That’s nothing new. He pronounces most non-English players incorrectly!Claretforever wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 7:35 pmIt’s Sarmiento, but the announcer had trouble with that when he came on for some reason. I think he called him Sarimento?

I only asked because the announcer. Infused me. Atrocious from the club that they can’t get this right.
Looking forward to Agyei’ s debut. Thee announcer had huge problems with that name in the past

Re: Sarimento
Or Alan Shearer when he used to refer to the Chelsea player as Boswinger instead of Bosingwa

Re: Sarimento
Well I dont know who is who these days let alone remember their correct names. I thought Jay was difficult enough all those years ago.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:00 pmHe did - pretty embarrassing not to know the names of your own players

Just got used to Vitinho, Zaroury and a few others and then whoosh, they are gone and another bus load arrives!!!!!
And I know I am not alone with the names of our players. Hated when squad numbers came in and then names on the shirt but now grateful although we seem to have too many players called Bristol Street Motors

Do you think the club deliberately told him to pronounce it wrong?Down_Rover wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 9:54 pmI only asked because the announcer. Infused me. Atrocious from the club that they can’t get this right
Re: Sarimento
Let's be honest we've hit the jackpot this season (even excusing accents) for spelling:

Humphreys
Laurent
Sarmiento
Hountondji

Re: Sarimento
I’m claiming some credit for our equaliser. Supporters were beginning to voice their frustration on Saturday when I loudly announced that Sarmiento was our ‘new Benson’. Seconds later he curled in that superb shot to level. The guys sat in front of me turned round in amazement asking who had called that one. It was similar to a Benson goal albeit from the left wing as opposed to right wing.
. Happy days.
