January Fixtures

Post by Tim Burr » Sat Sep 28, 2024 3:18 am

Living in the USA I want to take in the Sunderland game (Jan 18) but don't want to book flights if the game is changed to another day over the weekend. Does anybody know when we know if there are changes for TV please? The Oxford game is the first Clarets to not be televised here in the USA on CBS or Paramount+ a CBS station this season. Every Wrexham game has made the schedule this season and up to now every Burnley game. I'm not sure why the Oxford game is not covered since CBS won the rights.

Hi Tim,

You should know for definite by 1st November. See the Broadcast section in the link below:

Great to hear that Burnley are getting a lot of coverage in the US. Can’t imagine that would’ve been the case previously, so maybe the JJ effect?

The love in with Wrexham really is quite nauseating.

I feel the opposite.

I feel it’s a great case to show how the profile of a club can be raised in the US even when they’re not in the big league.

To be honest, I maybe expected a bit more impact from the JJ effect (although I’m not in the US so maybe it’s bigger than I realise, certainly sounds like we’re getting good TV coverage). Thats not to criticise his efforts though. They have been superb. We couldn’t have hoped for a better co-owner.

Wrexham are probably nailing it because they have two big stars and I thought JJ might actually get one or two other big sportsmen involved for that reason.

Thanks NewClaret for the link.
Being British and even though I've lived in the USA, I had never heard of JJ until he became a Burnley supporter.
Each year a TV company bids for EFL broadcast rights. Last time we were in the Championship every Burnley game was shown. CBS who won it this season appear to not show every one. Oxford today was not shown on any of their channels in my part of the country.
