Anyone catch this bus .. planning to use it for match tonight but wondering if it is full when it leaves town centre. It's a slightly quicker route than normal X43 and so actually gets to Burnley before the 4.45 bus which is good as long as it doesn't go sailing past my bus stop which is last one before leaving Manchester.

Is this the fast bus? I’ve caught this from the stop near Shudehill and it’s usually pretty busy but has never sailed past full.
Always better to get it from Chorlton Street if poss.

To my knowledge the Fast Bus leaves Chorlton St, heads straight out of Manchester up Rochdale Road, on to the Motorway next stop Rawtenstall.

While since I caught one though.

It is not as frequent from Chorlton Street (found out the hardway standing there for half an hour like a lemon the other week before I saw the notice) but some of the busses do, though the last time I checked the witch way website didn't specify which ones.

There are buses leaving from Chorlton Street today between 4.25pm and 6.25pm, think around 8 in total.

All other buses depart from Shudehill.

As you are last stop out of Manchester I was going to suggest catching train just after 5pm from Victoria. However, price is a bit steep for a one way journey and I guess you probably have a weekly or monthly ticket for the bus?

Fine as long as you are not wanting to get an X43 back after the game.

Aye, it always annoyed me that you couldnt get back to manc by bus without leaving a good degree of time before the end of the game.

I wonder if there is still the national express option for those wanting to get back to Manc itself, albeit via half of lancashire and greater manchester

They do run a later X43 now but it only goes to Rawtenstall.

Contribuites to my theory that they don't want to pay a driver to be working past midnight!
