A bit worrying I put a comment on Facebook saying I thought the fans were a bit quiet tonight and Alan Pace liked it ,obviously more than Brownhill that’s not too happy.

I'm not sure if I'm spending too much time on here but I've also been disappointed with the negativity. It's weird because all my friends and family that are season tickets have all been fairly positive.

The fans around me were all getting wound up with mis-placed passes and nobody being in the box first half.
Luckily in the 2nd half it was so dull, they all fell asleep.

As Parker alluded to we were feeling the effects of 2 games in a short space of time towards the end of the game, and just wanted to get over the line and not give Plymouth a sniff of a half chance. Fine by me when you're leading. How many stupid goals did we let in at crucial times last season by not being smart and doing the basics right...

Too much moaning from some of our fans who are quickly reaching Leeds United levels of self-entitlement. We won again to reach 2nd in the league with a squad pretty much brought together 2 games after the season started. A win is what matters, although with a bit more quality in the final 3rd we'd have been 3 up at half time. Back the team and stop whinging when we're getting the results!

I'm going to guess that Alan Pace had some idealistic view from watching English football on TV most of his life that there was always some sort of intense and intimidating atmosphere, especially with the old traditional clubs.
The reality is that the majority of games are very flat and that is only increasing as we as fans have pretty much seen it all at this level in the last 20 years. It takes a lot more to excite and unfortunately we have a much less exciting squad and probably manager (not necessarily a bad thing) than last time at this level.
I'd suggest Pace should stop taking digs at the fans every few weeks

On a different note ... Well done to the "die hard" Plymouth fans ... for a quite impressive turn out for a 600 mile round trip on a Tuesday night.

I thought our fans were really good last night, urging the team on in an exciting first half and also 8n the second half, even when very little was happening.

I didn't think the atmosphere was that bad in the CFS since it was Tuesday night and there was barely any noise from the Plymouth fans to bounce off.

Why would Alan Pace be reading your Facebook page?
Atmosphere at the Turf has been poor generally for years, even the season under VK it was only when we were winning you'd hear noise and that was more goading of away fans than atmosphere.
Our fans who are moaning about being 2nd in the table really need to get a grip, the football 1st half yesterday was good we are just lacking that final end product at the moment which may improve when better players return to fitness.
I'm pretty sure the atmosphere would improve if people weren't in a bad mood as soon as they stepped foot on Turf Moor property though to be ripped off at the price of crap food and drink that we are served

i didn't think the atmosphere was too bad, given we were playing on a Tuesday night , only about 1000 away fans, yes it was frustrating that we didn't get at least 2 or 3 goals in the first half but sometimes these type of matches happen,
if you contrast this to what we saw when we were last in the championship and where we were at this stage of the season then, we are doing amazingly well,
i wonder if those complaining about the atmosphere will be doing so on Saturday , albeit, if we win on Saturday and results have gone our way on Friday then we could be walking away from the turf top of the league.
the problem is people don't put any context to it and take each game in isolation, we cant win every game 5 - 0 and destroy every team we come across, but i guess that's what some supporters expect.

I think some people are so miserable and negative that it's become their default position on everything. Being positive about anything for more than a few moments would probably freak them out.

As mentioned, why would Pace be on Facebook, and if he was why would he be liking any comments, good or bad?

Same as very ground in England, dependent on kick off time, opposition and most importantly.. what happens on the pitch.
Even at somewhere like Palace, their ‘ultras’ fade into background noise if the game is meandering along.

Gotta admit I'm starting to struggle with this messageboard these days.
It's just clogged up with negative crap posted by a relative handful...the post count of some of them must be phenomenal...relentless drivel.
I'm just glad all this sh1te isnt reflected when I'm at games or talking to fellow clarets.
Pace likes a fairly innoccuous post on social media and the cretins attach more significance to it than the Gettiesburg Address.

I think there are more posts on the forum from people complaining about the moaners, than there are actual people moaning about the football in the first place.
Personally I think it is best to try and ignore it and post more positive stuff if you are feeling good about being second in the table after the summer we have had, I know I am happy with the season so far

It was remarkably quiet at times yesterday, this wasn't down to entertainment as we played some great stuff in the first half. But a small, and quiet away following, a decent refereeing performance and a should-win game are never a good combination for atmosphere. Saturday should be better against a local rival and potentially a chance to go top of the table.

I think after the horror show of last season, coupled with the huge number of players sold, the general mood was always going to be on a knife edge early on this season. I wasn't impressed with our overall performance last night but understand where we are as a team currently. We're doing alright all things considered - if results continue to come in, and hopefully performances improve, then I am sure the support will be bit more vocal in the stands...

The fans need to stick by the team as much as possible. Feel like we are one home defeat away from total meltdown for some reason. If you look at our closest challengers Leeds, their fans are really starting to turn on Farke so not entirely a happy camp.
Feel like this league is for the taking if we all stick together.

I'm not bothered how dull the footy is if we carry on winning. Having said that, if the football isn't particularly exciting (winning it not) it's going to be hard for the crowd to really "make some noise".

i thought it was interesting when the ball went into the corner, Plymouth put 3 up top so we had a decision to make, put 4 back and throw the ball into the box or what we did 1 up with 6 minutes extra time to play, put 5 back and play keep ball in the corner.
I thought Parker got it spot on, what we did was the better strategy.
im 59 so i have never liked this pulling everyone back for corners etc, I've never understood why teams don't mix it up like Plymouth did. What would Liverpool do if we put three on the halfway line for the odd corner? It would mix it up a bit more and make teams think about what they did.

As an expat living in Spain I obviously watch all the games on tv. I don’t know how the microphones are positioned at the Turf but the crowd support and chanting/singing etc always sounds great from the Burnley fans. So if I can hear it 1500 miles away I’m sure the players must appreciate it over there.

As much as you want the football to be better to watch, and I think that will come, we are, as you say, winning games.
After the soul destroying stuff last season it’s refreshing to see us winning again.

I did, but at least there were plenty of opposition goals last year to break up the dullness!
If we’re holding it in the corner with 10 minutes to go against Plymouth at home then the crowd will act accordingly.

As soon as we had the free kick as the 6 minute injury time started and kept it in the corner, I just walked out.
I've not got any time for it. Nevermind against lesser opposition at home.
