Hi, I dropped my phone on Friday and have cracked the screen it's a Samsung s24 Ultra and it was quite expensive I rang around for different quotes, for repair at a small independent shop in town he said a genuine Samsung service pack was £395,thought that was rather steep,I spoke to a rather nice woman on the Samsung website and she said a replacement screen would be approximately £239 again rather expensive another Samsung quote was screen repair £314
I'm sure this font of all knowledge that is Up The Clarets, could help me in my quest to get a repair I know it won't be cheap but has anyone on here had a similar problem, the cost of repair is scandalous one guy even said Gorilla Glass is expensive you know ? it's glass ffs and it wasnt that shlt hot it cracked they give these items a fancy name then charge the earth to replace them.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Don't know if this will help or not. My son had his Samsung phone screen, though I don't know what model, repaired at a shop near Greggs in Burnley Town centre and it cost him about £60.

This is the second time I've dropped and cracked a Samsung phone the last time was about £50 that was a while ago they just seem to just make figures up in their head and quote them but 400 quid to repair a screen is taking the plss

£200+ is going to be about right for an OLED screen replacement for that phone, especially if it’s a genuine Samsung screen.

If you manage to fix it, it's worth paying a significant fee for a good phone case/protector.
One may balk at the idea of paying top whack for a phone case but they more than pay for themselves.

It had a Spigen armour case on it the crack is it the top corner so looks like it fell on its edge, case protection and toughened Gorilla Glass both failed me I'm distraught

If you intend keeping it, get a genuine Samsung replacement, the 3rd party stuff you'll purchase more cheaply will drive you wild if you try and live with it for a prolonged period.

Not from personal experience but I believe that there is, or was, a good guy in the market hall.

Even market is going to be £200+ for a oled screen replacement. Are you not insured on your home insurance?

On receiving a new phone the first thing I do before using it is to attach a Zagg screen protector and place the whole thing in an Otterbox case. It really does protect the phone.

Bingo! cheers GetintoEm my home insurance i never give it a thought,I'll give them a bell tomorrow it is difficult getting blood out of a stone with insurance companies though, having read through my policy it states I'm insured for up to £10,000 for personal belongings any advice on how to handle this call tomorrow would be appreciated we all know how insurance companies try to wriggle out of paying up.

Your premiums will go up in subsequent years which I discovered after a small claim for a laptop.
There's a place in Padiham that is meant to be good, a friend had acrepair done there,it's in the old post office on the main road.

The best and cheapest place in Burnley centre is the little shop across from The New Brew’m Pub
He replaced a smashed Samsung S range tablet screen for £125 for me and put a free screen protector on it
Everywhere else wanted over £350

Your screen should be covered under normal circumstances by Spigen (that's what you pay for)
Contact them

Took it to be done the guy peeled off the screen protection and the screen was in mint condition he said to me I've just saved you £260 there somewhere Less reputable would have charged you top whack for a 15 second job of peeling the protector off didn't know screen protectors where glass. I was so happy.

Reminds me of that time I took my car to be scrapped only to be told it just needed the washer fluid topping up.

Years ago (nearly 50) and pal and I had a half share each in a Bedford Dormi. We got it checked out by a couple of friends of my now wife for £3. They liked messing with cars and stuff.
Told us they had dismantled loads of stuff inc the steering and had a whole list of things.
They had put it back together well, because it sailed through it's MOT!
