Mum shares horrific photos of girl's injuries after dog attack
My heart goes out to this poor girl. Be warned, the photo is not for the faint-hearted.
I hope the owners are convicted and get lengthy jail time.

As in the article the police believe the dog was bred for fighting.. says it all.
These type of people should be banned from owning dogs. Hope they get shafted in jail.
Hope the poor girl makes a full recovery, including mentally.
But let’s not demonise all dogs bigger than an ankle biter because of the irresponsible owners.

I'd probably put the owners down and find the dog a better home.

"It's never bitten anymore before"
I've heard that one a couple of times after being bitten by dogs at work.
Thankfully nothing like this case.

Horrendous, there are breeds of dog that should be banned,no ifs no buts no neutering etc just humanely destroyed, the offences should be harsher, you cannot savage someone with a knife and blame the knife it should be the same with dogs.

That breed of dog doesn’t need banning, it needs to be made extinct.

But he's only eaten three people.
I agree with the sentiment of saving the dog and putting the owners down.

I think it's time to consider the reintroduction of the dog license, along with compulsory public liability insurance for any damage caused by dogs.

‘It’s not the dog it’s the owners….’ ‘Our dog would never hurt anyone…’
If I see an XL Bully or similar I cross the road asap. The owners are usually the same type.

Problem with dog licences is who will enforce them? Police are stretched to the limit.
Council workers have no power as such, can’t see it being enforced at all, as simply no one to do it!
Bit like all dogs are supposed to be microchipped. Only seems to be checked if dog is lost or treated at vets

Very true, it will just be more admin and cost for responsible dog owners. The irresponsible dog owners would just ignore getting a license or insurance, the same way they already ignore training their dogs.

Depends on how much the fee would be, and whose responsibility it would be to collect it.

Terrible tragedy, yet another child killed. How have these people managed to buy one, will these "parents" be charged with some criminal offence ? Surely now the government should totally ban this and other such like breeds and start putting them down,no excuses or exemptions.
