Only the third by an England player in my life time and I was at Headingley when John Erdrich got his 310 against New Zealand in 1965.

And the most recent of those two 86 years ago. No matter how good this wicket might be for batting on, this is exceptional.

It any team could collapse to an innings defeat on this pitch it would be the Spurs of the cricket world.

41/4 2 in 2 balls

How do you go from being 261/1 at home and more than likely lose

It will be interesting to see who drops out if Stokes returns as an all rounder in the next test, which I think is at the same venue.

Dropped a couple along the way, too.
We've bowled well.
First I've really watched Carse in this format. He's been impressive.

Does anyone else hope that Brydon Carse, when striding down the steps at Multan with the score at 799/7, muttered to his colleagues, " Don't worry lads, I always was one for a crisis ! " ? ;)

Have to say a complete lack of backbone and the collapse under a bit of scoreboard pressure will worry the Pakistani coaching staff.
That pitch has barely changed since day one when they were hitting the ball to all parts, yet they've collapsed in this innings like it's some sort of snake pit.
You can only assume that they thought after the first innings that a draw was the very worst result they'd get out of this game. They looked shell shocked to me that they would have actually had to bat for over a day to save the test match.
Fair play to England though, but this highlights a massive mental weakness to me in the opposition.

I don't see Stokes bowling in this series, so unless he comes in for Pope I don't see him getting in the team. V much doubt we'd go into a test in these conditions and heat with a bowler short.
