Does passing out from the back actually provide any benefits?
Unless you have the very best players it seems to cause more problems than its worth at times.

Crazy line up. No one capable or wanting to play up top. 2 cf on bench and this guy wants to be the England manager. Also only 2 proper defenders and so far it shows.

Lee Dixons summarising has been first class. Two FBs neither of them can defend, getting caught too far forward and putting all the pressure on Stones and Colwill to tidy the mess. Bellingham is wasted as a false 9, get him where he can dominate the match. Carsley has wanted to get all our young attacking talent on the pitch but it’s not working so far. Solanke on second half and drop Bellingham back for Foden or Palmer. If he prefers Anthony off and put Foden out left.

England look like Burnley, slow, ponderous, overplaying it, frightened to put the ball in the box, shocking when an opportunity does come, and living on the edge when the opposition break.

This is pure total rubbish.
Foden is hopeless at this level, but he's not the only poor performer so far.

This methodical pass it about for the sake of it type of football is mind numbingly boring.
Football as a spectacle was miles better in the 1990’s. And Carsley looks like a dick doing his best Bielsa impression on the touchline.

Round pegs in square holes yet again for England just to fit people in, Saka goes off injured we are 1-0 down and still we don't bring a striker on.
Greece at home with no striker on the pitch and yet we still can't defend

Never mind Carsley not signing God save the King.
God save my eyes.
At least Greece look fairly entertaining.

Guardiola is considered a genius for bringing it to England but they don’t play it in Spain or Germany. They are both a much better watch than PL.

Deserved lead for positive play.
All those English players around him, and none of them tried to win the ball. He had a lot to do, but he did it. We've been in the same position and lose it to the first Greek leg.

Last thing we want is England playing well, winning 5-0 and being stuck with Carsley for the next 6 years

Most importantly, no hint of a scandal, bribes, ribald jokes or, anything else that might upset his bosses social standing.
This will probably get him the job.

Good to know. Watching this I’d started wondering if he’d won his 6 games in charge in a raffle at an FA sponsored Sportsman’s Dinner.

Awful. Truly awful. No better than Southgate going forward and yet far far worse at the back.
Greece have played pretty well to be fair. With a little bit of cleverer run ing they would probably be 3 or 4 up.
Meanwhile our 'talent' has been anything but.

Played for Derby, Blackburn, Coventry, Everton & Birmingham.
He’s been caretaker manager at Coventry & Birmingham and manager at Brentford. Then he stepped into the England setup.
