"Rest bite" probably wouldn't have been a 'typo', the person who wrote it could have thought it correct.

I think you are probably right on that.

A few years ago we were playing an U21 game at Stockport against Sunderland and the club put the team out on Twitter. It wasn't a typo, more predictive texting on a phone, but Arlen Birch became Arlen Bitch.

'Escape goat' was always one of my favourites. I can see it with the ropes and a knife in it's teeth.
