What a difference he made today. A real handful, good hold-up play, a constant nuisance, superb workrate and tested the goalkeeper on numerous occasions.

Must admit I like him as the front man. Very skillful, good awareness, puts himself about, Thought we looked like we had goals in us today.

What is his best position? I think I’m right in saying that Millwall played him as a ten or on the right?
I still think that we need a striker, but good that he’s able to fill that role.

He played off a main striker for most of his time there.
I’d love to see him and Foster form a duo, real potential there in my view.

If we are to do the same, it presumably means one of Brownhill or Hannibal missing out.
I’d like to see Hannibal playing further back, alongside Cullen, to see how that works. For me, he offers more as a deeper midfielder.

Zian is a very clever footballer and seems to make the correct decision every time.
I have been especially impressed with his ability to receive the ball in crowded areas. He seems to instinctively know how to position his body properly to give himself the right angle and position for his next move. Additionally, he is adept at positioning himself to block out an opposing player and he shields the ball incredibly well.

I would really like to see foster with flemming for a run of games but the Josh midfield 3 were excellent today

We've played 10 games now, a decent striker would have scored 20 by now

I don't think we should be thinking of Foster as a key player. We have the players in Flemming and Brownhill who we know will be there every week unlike Foster. Really strong behind them with Cullen , Lauren and Hannibal. I think the best we can hope for over the season is Foster being a good sub to come in when he is fit enough to be considered for the squad

Foster could learn a ton from Zian, how to occupy a defence.

We've needed to move on from Foster for quite a while...now we can.

Flemming suits the way we play - needs a goal but his workrate is fantastic and he occupies a defence consistently which allows the likes of (today) Brownhill and Laurent to get really high up the pitch. Hes our main starter for me.

Any suggestions that Foster or Hannibal come back in are clearly not based on anything we've seen this season. And even more laughable are any suggestions that we leave Brownhill out. Regardless of whether he plays well or not, he does the basics well and has a goal threat; something neither Foster or Hannibal have shown this season.

It’s clear he can easily play as a number 9, has the hold up play we need, and he’s far better than Foster at it!

I'm possibly getting a bit carried away with our 2-0 away win today but I'm thinking that Flemming could well be our best player and it is important to get him fit / keep him fit as it will be crucial to our season.

What a shift he put in today. He just can’t be left out of the side unless injured. I loved his effort and skill. Becoming a favourite player, so much Burnley about him.

I can see why we wanted flemming for the number 10 position last season, our team last season could of done with someone that had his fire

Hopefully Foster was watching today, would have got a lesson in how to play as a lone striker.

Apart from all that has been posted on this thread about Flemming, he’s also as strong as an ox. Those Wednesday defenders will know they’ve been in a game today.

Very impressed. Really wanted him to get a goal to reward his performance but the goals will come. For someone who's not an out-and-out striker, he did a very good job. The chances he had weren't easy. He'll get better opportunities and but them away.
He is a very intelligent player and optimises his time on the pitch. Would like to see his heat map because he was constantly on the move. With Laurent getting forward, we were far more cohesive.
Foster will have to fight hard to get back in unless SP goes with two up top.

That's the thing I've noticed most about him. He's absolutely solid and uses his body brilliantly.
He's one of those that even if he doesn't score or assist he will be an absolute nusicance

Yeah the defenders bounced off him, ref fell for it a few times and gave fouls just for flemming being to strong

It's just so refreshing to see us having a presence up front, someone who wants to do the ugly bits for the team, and someone who has the technical skill and football intelligence to look after the ball and link up with his team.
I'll be so disappointed if Foster comes straight back in at Flemming's expense. After today and at Leeds, Flemming is our striker.

Interestingly on Radio Lancashire, Glen Little compared him to Andy Cooke, presumably for that reason. Clearly a far better and more subtle player of course.

Not similar players but I can see why Glen said that. I was so impressed with him today.

Sorry to go off topic, but the Radio Lancashire commentator claimed that we were promoted under Dyche after scoring just 37 goals all season.
I'd love to know what he was smoking!

Obviously got himself mixed up is what I’m saying. We conceded 37 in 2013/14 and our goal difference was 37 in 2015/16.

I thought he looked decent enough , nice hold up play , high energy and has an eye for goal . Just the type of player you need in a long championship campaign .

What was lacking last season was men in the team ,we now have Laurent Roberts and Flemming who know how to get stuck in.

That's nowt. The Scottish guy summarising the Blagbin Rovers Vs Swansea game (Jim White?) signed off his report "I remains Burnley 1 Swansea 0!" He'd clearly rather have been watching Burnley
