Trafford- 7. Some big claims and a couple of good saves

Roberts- 7. God how we’ve missed him at full back
CJ- 8. Getting better and better every week. Distribution better too
Esteve- 7. Steady as usual
Humphries- 6. Okay but a position I think we need improving

Cullen- 7. Got stuck in, kept it ticking along. Back to his old ways.
Brownhill- 6. Went missing for a lot of that first half but improved in second and was there when it mattered. Better than he has been.
Laurent- 9*. MOTM. Was absolutely everywhere and looks a steal for what we paid for him.

Koleosho- 5. So frustrating. Gives it away almost every time he gets the ball. Deserved booking for his miss 1 v 1
Flemming- 8. Absolute battering ram and improves us no end
Anthony- 6. Good goal but needs to take his man on more for me.

Subs:
Sarmiento- 6. Some good runs and was lively.
Massengo- N/A
Egan- N/A

7 - JT - Would have dropped down a mark if they scored that open goal at the end, but otherwise all good. Not a fan of the Pickford style time wasting, but I assume he is told to do it.

7 - Roberts - Really glad he is back, just does the job well.
7 - CJ E-R - Fair play to him, some really solid tackles. Few dodgy moments but he was good today overall.
7 - Esteve - Another solid enough performance.
7 - Humphreys - Some good tackles when he ended up in 1 on 1 situations. Glad he's back on the left side.

5 - Koleosho - frustrating to watch at times. Really not looking like a £30m player at the minute.
7 - Cullen - another one steady away.
9* - Laurent - Thought he was quality today, up and down the pitch and his passing was great.
6 - Brownhill - Not bad but I am expecting more from him based on previous Championship seasons.
7 - Anthony - Looked decent and took his goal very well.

8 - Flemming - Brilliant at leading the line. Hold up play is excellent and brings others into play around him.

6 - Sarmiento - should have scored but did well overall. Probably starts ahead of Koleosho for me at the minute.

Trafford - 7 - Played well bar the confusion at the end and one or 2 dreadful passes

Roberts 6 - Solid, I liked how he was inverting at times. Needs to do it more often so we have control of midfield and allow Koleosho to get one v one
CJ Egan Riley 4 - horrific first half and could easily have cost us 3 goals. Better 2nd half but still looked hesitant at times. Can't mark him higher based on that.
Esteve - 7 - Solid but it's reaching the point where he's becoming overrated. He looks a bit nervy in possession at times and got away with a dreadful header in the 2nd half
Humphries - 8 - I thought he was excellent in and out of possession. Not going to get forward but showed composure in keeping the ball

Cullen - 9 - Dominated the game
Brownhill- 8- Great pressing and as always from that position he knows when to arrive in the box and knick a goal
Laurent - 9 - An absolute unit as a box to box midfielder. So much better there where he has Cullen doing the job of receiving the ball from the centre halves which is his biggest weakness.

Koleosho 5 - 0 football brain. Would be a good wing back
Flemming 7 - Looks a nightmare to defend against, uses his body brilliantly
Anthony 7 tidy

Subs:
Sarmiento- 5 - missed an absolute sitter and was incredibly greedy when he blazed one over the bar
Massengo- N/A
Egan- N/A

Trafford 7 usual distribution blips and a missed catch
Roberts 7 decent return
ER 8 very good and an assist
Esteve 7
Humphreys 7
Koleosho 5 just a bit off but will be fine
Brownhill 8 played in his best position and got his goal
Cullen 8 back near his best
Laurent 9 strong quick MOM for me but missed a sitter
Anthony 7 took his goal very expertly
Flemming 8 Not a striker but led the line well. So strong

Sarmiento 6 Could have got a couple but did ok

Much improved and our best performance by far since the transfer window closed

Trafford - 7 - assured

Roberts - 7 - steady, got us up the pitch
Egan-Riley - 6 - I’m not pro or anti the lad. If you break down their chances, the two free headers were both his man, throw in the sloppy pass and missed header first half, he could have had a hand in conceding 4 goals. That said, some good stuff in among. He’s young and will get better with experience
Esteve - 7 - he had a couple of iffy moments as well, but in the main his usual self
Humphreys - 7 - thought he looked more comfortable on the left

Cullen - 7 - good game
Laurent - 9* - head and shoulders above everyone - we look totally different with him in the middle
Brownhill - 7 - 5 in 10 now for Josh

Koleosho - 6 - the lack of end product is frustrating but no doubts he puts teams on the back foot
Flemming - 7 - thought he grafted well and caused far more problems than Foster
Anthony - 7 - tidy and took his goal well

Sarmiento - 6 - how did he miss?

Trafford 7. One minor flap but his confidence must be sky high.
Roberts 7 Usual gritty performance
Humphreys - 7 Assured
Egan-Riley 7 - Made some great tackles
Esteve 7 - Steady day
Cullen 7 - Our hub
Laurent 8 - Really good today**
Brownhill 8 - Another well taken goal
Koleosho 6 - Maybe trying a little too hard at times
Anthony 7 - Took his goal well
Flemming 8 - He would be even better with a strike partner, his touch and awareness is very good.

Sarmiento - I can't score him as his missed header cost me a 28/1 bet builder :D

Good to see another clean sheet and no panicking. Some of the defending within the box was a throwback to our back 5 of a few years ago.

Yes. Gave a pass really short to Roberts early on. Was at fault for their big set piece chance where he just didn't drop for some reason and left them with a free header that they should have scored. And gave away another couple of dreadful passes that could have been punished.

If we concede 2 from those mistakes everyone would be marking him differently. For me the outcome doesn't make up for the mistakes.

Yes he had one or two passing errors, we could all see that. But we could also see that otherwise he was very good. That is why most have given a 7 rather than an 8. As opposed to a ridiculous 4

I cannot believe that some posters are scoring players less than a 7 today,an away win and a clean sheet is impressive in any division, they all did well stuck to the game plan and got their just desserts, scoring players 4s and 5s really give your head a wobble

Ridiculous. If a striker missed 5 sitters but also scored 3 would you score them a 4?

Trafford 7 - solid and only one minor flap at the end
Roberts 7 - a clear improvement in that position
Egan-Riley 8 - two or three vital tackles or interceptions
Estève 6 - not his best game and I am a big fan, let them in a few times
Humphreys 7 - fairly quiet but clearly better on his left foot, albeit quite defensive minded
Cullen 9 - superb, ran the game, not a game with a great tempo but we controlled it
Laurent 9 - also brilliant, tough and solid but some important bursts forward that could have delivered
Koleosho 7 - a danger but gets a bit too frustrated and delivered less in 75 than Sarmiento in 15
Brownhill 8 - a goal from his preferred position, correct from Parker, Hannibal unlucky but not as good
Anthony 7 - an enigma, I sense much more to come, turns back and waits inside too much for me
Flemming 8 - big improvement, Basher Mark 2, clever, tough, faster than he appears

The key today was that Wednesday looked to play a similar way to us and I felt early on that the team with better players would then overcome the other, and we did. Without getting out of 2nd gear in truth. We improved up front but we still lack a creator. What a shame Tresor is not ready or willing, and that Sarmiento is a tad wasteful (the latter doing some great things but messing up the coup de grace).

Parker is clearly keeping it tight and telling his players not to stretch the game too much or take risks. I feel we are too far one side of that at the moment whereas Kompany was too far the other way. But this may well be the way to creep up to 2 pts plus per game and promotion? It is a young defence and maybe he is right to protect them (and despite the best defence in the league we do offer up some half chances)?

All in all though a great day, a comfortable win, and we look like we will be tough to stop.

It's quite ironic that I get accused of being negative by certain posters as they weirdly pick up on the one poor mark I gave, whilst simultaneously ignoring the really good marks I gave to players such as Humphrey and Laurent.

Much improved second half after a bore fest in the first half. Goes to show how important it is to get the first goal so the opposition have to open up a bit. Because that created lots of space for us in the second half which led to a far more improved display.

Trafford 8.5 - Excellent apart from a minor blip with Esteve.

Roberts 7.5 - Gave us balance

Egan-Riley 8.5 - He is our best passer at the back plus an assist.

Estève 7 - Not on his game today but did enough.

Humphreys 7.5 - Grew into the game and we looked more balanced.

Cullen 9 - Tempo king back to his best.

Laurent 9*- Compliments Cullen perfectly.

Koleosho 7 - Needs to work on his end product, it will come.

Brownhill 8 - Played his role intelligently topped with a goal.

Anthony 8 - Clinical finish and nearly had a second.

Flemming 9 - Deserved a goal, him and Foster will be some partnership.

Sarmiento 7.5 - Eventful cameo, hit the post and got booked.

Perfect away performance.

It's quite ironic that I get accused of being negative by certain posters as they weirdly pick up on the one poor mark I gave, whilst simultaneously ignoring the really good marks I gave to players such as Humphrey and Laurent.
Just admit it you’ve had it in for Egan Riley since his first game for some reason

Had it in for him? Seriously?
I just don't think he's on the level the rest of the squad is and it nearly cost us today. We have a solid team which is protecting him, similar to when we had Kevin Long filling in in the Premier League.

Trafford 8 - Coming out with confidence and took all shots at him with ease - Very happy he’s proving the doubters wrong
Roberts 7
Humphries 7
Egan-Riley 8 like O’Shea getting written off last season he’s proving how good he is with games under his belt - patience is a quality some fans lack

Esteve 7

Cullen 8
Laurent 8
Brownhill 8
Koleosho 6 - feel he’s trying way too hard - feel for him but got to get through it

Anthony 7 - very happy for him to score

Flemming 8 - Barnes Esc performance with quality

Sarmiento 7 - tempted to want him ahead of Luca against Hull

No clue what game you watched - you are entitled to your opinion but I thought he was fantastic today.

He will only get better too

Massengo- N/A
Egan- N/A
No way that Egan-Riley rating is genuine. Best defender on pitch today. He’s getting better every game he plays.

He is improving all the time. At 21 Tarkowski was still kicking about at Oldham. He turned out OK

Seem to recall that when we signed THB and CJER , think it was quite close together, that City would have rather loaned CJER and sold us THB. Think City rated CJER more highly than THB, will be interested to see how how he develops now given the opportunity at 1st team level.

Trafford...7..glimpses of what we paid for.
Roberts..7
Esteve..7
CJER...7...21 year old playing centre half at this level...great to see.
Humph...5...not good enough to allow their wide right players that much space.
Cullen...9 back on it today....
Brownhill...7
Laurent...8
Kolo...6
Anthony...7
Flemming...9...Absolute handful...we've needed this.

Best performance since Luton away.
