Burnley town centre on a Friday night

An 'interesting' experience !
I arrived by bus and got off near M&S with the intention of going to the Spoons. As I walked through the centre I was almost struck by youths riding motorised bikes and scooters. There was also a semi conscious bloke being treated by paramedics.
Whilst in the Spoons I had a view outside and there were dozens of teens running around. I would suggest that ADHD might be an issue. I then witnessed a lad run up and kick a girl between the legs. She went to the floor whilst her 'mates' stood around laughing. An elderly man was banging his head against the window of the pub across the road.
I got the bus back home and there was a bloke abusing the driver. There was a toddler in a pram using her own mobile phone and making calls when she couldn't speak and her parents needing to take the phone off her. She then screamed blue murder until she got her phone back. 3 blokes were spoiling for a fight. A group of teenagers obviously under the influence were also on board with a lass taking selfies of her lady parts.
Certainly an 'experience'.

This is what happens when you turn a blind eye to the low-level stuff. It very quickly escalates to where you have a free-for-all as far as the chavs and scrotes are concerned.

Shame to hear because they seem to be doing well in terms of the general appearance of the town centre. All a waste of time if its an intimidating place to step foot in at night.

Poor do when the kind of antisocial and violent behaviour from gangs of chavs that would be totally unacceptable during daylight hours, is somehow tolerated once it goes dark. It's becoming a playground for lawless scrotes who know they are untouchable. The town centre should feel reasonably safe no matter the time of day or night.

The law actually protects these scrotes though, to young for proper punishment, can't be touched by the police etc etc. Every F in politician be they right or left pledge to clamp down but they really don't give a flying f()ck about normal people.

I would suggest this isn't just Burnley on a Friday night, having done recent trips (last 12 months) to Bradford, Leeds, Woking and Middlesbrough on Night-times its countrywide.

Compared to some towns in Central Scotland, Burnley is about as scary as Trumpton.

Interesting to read the OP, and it has come as no surprise to read the incidences. What did surprise me was the results in a national survey run by GETAMOVER -the moving platform, which voted Burnley the top town country in England for young families.Suspect the results were skewed by the low prices of property in the town

There’s a really thick underclass developing generally in the UK although it’s certainly evident in Burnley. Some don’t have respect for anyone or anything. There’s very little law and order and a lack of police on the streets. I’ve seen the police in a squad car recently just watching chavs on e bikes with no plates breaking the speed limits in built up areas . I asked them about it and they told me they knew who they were but there was nothing they could do about it. The chavs know they can do what they want. You can steal from the supermarket and the security can’t stop you. There’s a number of reasons but I don’t think social media and reality tv help where some pretty stupid people can gain fame and fortune without needing to work hard, be respectful to others or even be able to communicate properly. We can see how social media has helped spread disorder with the recent riots by some of these types of people.

Lack of respect for others and the rule of law is so widespread. Couple that up with a culture where no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions and it's no surprise to read posts like this.
Those e-bikes and scooters are a massive issue in particular. Mostly down to parents though, as you have to be a crap parent to buy your kid one of them. Speeding around with no helmet, no lights, no insurance, no license.

I sometimes pop down to Burnley with the Mrs
Couple of beers in the Thai Bar (empire theatre) Sat out the back with a couple of starters
Pop for a cruizcampo or two in Icaro lounge then to The Palazzo for a beer and maybe share a pizza then walk home
Idiots in every town but my general view on Burnley is that it’s great and rarely see much trouble … no more than anywhere else
Loads of good places to go these days …
Bad places too but I just don’t go there

Never really go out at night, afternoons are the best in pretty much any town. To be fair, nightlife should be left to the youngsters.
Also, this is the dregs you’re encountering. The huge majority of kids mine know are lovely, polite hardworking types. Certainly better people than the ones I went to school with 30 years ago.

Agree with this, there are some decent places to avoid the scruffs in town. Add in the Cork House and rebranded Little White Horse for starters.
And if you want a scrap, drink until 8am - we've also got you covered.

Called into the Little White Horse last month. We would call in again if they had any draft or keg ale. They only sold lager.

We had this Sunday lunch the other week in the Little White Horse, it was excellent! I had the same at Alexander's in Skipton the week after at £28, which wasnt as good.

I only go out with my 80 year Dad for a couple of pints on a Friday night and it's the same every week.
A couple of weeks ago I witnessed a bloke being punched and kicked unconscious outside the Swan pub with their doormen just turning a blind eye as if it was a normal event.

The doormen’s feet were probably stuck to the carpet in the Swan to be fair.

It has indeed been like this for a long time.
Many years ago I had relatives visiting from Stevenage, so along with other members of my family we decided on a night in Burnley. Our first port of call was the Boot Inn. As we were about to enter the door a doorman stopped us saying, "just a minute". So we waited until the door burst open and two doormen carried an enormous bloke out horizontally, face covered in blood and only groaning as he was dumped on the floor. The doormen then said, "you can come in now". I just looked at the horror on my relatives faces and said, 'welcome to Burnley'.

Since when has there ever been a Fri night in any town centre when there’s not endless low/moderate anti social /drink influenced behaviour taking place . Been happening since medieval times and not just oop north . I was in the salubrious district of South Kensington last week with a wealthy pal at a posh eaterie . However upon leaving said gaff ,(on the way to some equally overpriced bar )3 mopeds piled up ( 2 on each) and laid into 2 guys across the road , machetes out the lot , one looked badly hurt but staggered off . Naturally our need for beer kept us walking to the watering hole .

I can concur about Scottish towns being tough.
Went out in one, Asked the locals the name of the hottest place in town and got told it was a swinging place called the The Fish and Chip Shop. Weird name for a bar I thought but 'hey ho' turned out to be a brilliant place even had an authentic fish and chip counter selling Cod and Chips. Anyway couldn't find the bar so we went outside and whump - got flattened by passing tumbleweed. Didn't see it coming; no witnesses: nothing.
Not going back there again in a hurry.

I came over for the Preston game with a few work mates from Cheshire - met up with a few mates from Burnley and we had a full day out.
Started in New Brew M.. Dyche.. Oxford.. Miners.. Swan... Big window.. Oscars... Bootleggers.. Mojitos... Remedy
10am-12am and they all can't wait for another trip over as they loved it - proper pubs and proper people is what they thought of the whole trip.
