I watched the BFC women play in the Fa cup today (streamed on YouTube) winning 12-0 it was great to see goals for BFC. I will be watching more in the future. I went on the turf to see them a few weeks back but don't fancy watching at Leyland where they normally play.

I don’t suppose they could show the lads where the goal is could they?

I’m not a fan of women’s football. I watched the extended highlights of a BFC women’s 8-0 win. Re- confirmed why I don’t like it. The standard is very poor and it’s almost a completely different game. They are signing up some young players who really aren’t that great either.

Agree - it's terrible

As opposed to the fine performances of the men? I agree it is a much slower game but there is far less feining injury and some very enjoyable football played. The biggest difference is the speed and goal keeping.

The National League North is a really hard division to get out off, only one team is promoted.

I haven't watched the ladies but the bottom team is played 9 with goal difference of -35 (nearly 4 goals a game), Forest who are second have a goal difference of +37, which tells me there must be some sub standard teams in that league.

Top two are Wolves and Forest so i would assume they have a bigger budget, third is Rugby Borough, who don't fit the usual profile of a ladies team as part of a professional mans club.

8-0 up against Bradford Ciy in the FA Cup. Just getting to half time so this could be a massive score.

Why do we need to know your opinion?

It used to be a 'minority sport' but is becoming increasingly popular. There were over 60.000 spectators at a friendly international match last week. I particularly like how many children exhibit their enjoyment of it. I get the sense that they feel it is something they 'own' and is free of nastiness.
If I have a wish for it then that would be that the commentators invent a kind of language for it to differentiate it from the men's game.
I love to see the pony tails and shorts being adjusted at every break in play.

No good for the development of players for either team when they are so mismatched.

Notts Forest in another game are 10-0 up at half time.

England v USA yesterday at Wembley. 80,000 through the door.

Make that 10-0 ... 2 goals in 2 minutes

To be fair, he didn't open the thread, he replied to it. And I guess messageboards are there for opinions.

Doesn’t matter what the standard is .
If young girls from age of say 6 get to play in organised league matches and work their way up to the Burnley Ladies team it is great for their Mental Health and being outside in all weathers taking part in organised sport
Some kids are stuck in high rise accommodation playing keyboard games

Great football for girls
As an 80 year old it was never allowed when I was a kid

Not really.

We’ve effectively in league one. We would go up to the Championship next, then to the WSL.

The problem is, there’s only one promotion place each season, so while we’re always in and around it, you have to have a perfect season and be the best team in the league to get a promotion. We’ve narrowly missed out in recent years.

This time we’re 3rd, 4 points off Forest in top with a game in hand. If we win it we’d be level on points with Wolves in second. Both teams have much better goal difference than us.

We drew with Forest away (quite luckily in my view), lost 1-0 to Wolves at home which I went to and was also unlucky not to get at least a point. We’ll have to beat Forest at home and Wolves away to go up in my opinion so very tough ask now.

Problem we face is two premier league sides in the division probably means women’s teams with much higher budgets so can bring the top players in.

Thanks for the update. So it sounds like we're in League 1, basically? And ever reaching the Prem is a long-term goal. From what I gather from word of mouth, Pace is interested in improving the ladies team and maybe why it's promoted more from the main marketing/social media team.

Its cup weekend so a few mismatches around, although it also happens in the league with premier league/championship clubs mixed in with each other.

Per my point above, needs a bit of a rethink in how it’s run with more promotion/relegation places to get the clubs investing in their women’s teams aligned in the same league.

Yes, league one, one of the best teams but hard to get out of. I think if we got to the Championship we’d be fine but getting there is an ask.

Pace is keen to reach the WSL I think. Can’t see that as a realistic aim with one promotion place per season unless they either increase the places or Pace diverts a decent slug of cash at it if we get promoted to the premier league which I can’t see him doing unless we establish ourselves there again because there would be no ROI.

They have improved the promotion places slightly as it used to be one team from the North and South leagues went up. I think they changed it last season so both league winners get promoted and two come down.

Not my bag either tbh, but I don't feel a need to come on here and p1ss all over them.

Rugby were relegated into our league, and Forest, Wolves and ourselves are spending relatively large sums of money in an attempt to get promotion.
