Probably the best way with how tightly the run the posting out of tickets v collection

Whats the thinking behind that? Surely people collecting is slightly less hassle.

Possibly means less people going into the TO and less confusion with people waiting for the post when the tickets are sat in the TO etc.

Looks as though I'll have to go down to the ticket office to order mine then because I don't want them posting.
When did they actually tell us this? When did they give us a reason for this.
I still know people who had Sunderland tickets posted and are still waiting to receive them.

As far as I'm aware the club haven't formally announced this but I contacted them yesterday to query why I couldn't find a Collect option when ordering tickets and was told that posting was the only option for online orders for this game. I don't know if this will also apply for future games though.

It’s something different they hit us with every week. I’m surprised the Director of Fan Experience hasn’t got involved. Oh hang on, no, I’m not surprised.

Have they fixed the option to buy tickets for friends and family members when you yourself don't have the requisite number of points? Used to be able to do this but when i tried earlier in the season I couldn't even get as far as ordering a ticket.

Wouldn't mind if they could be trusted to post them out on time.

yeah i couldn't find the collect option , bit annoyed as picking them up prior to a game would save me £1.50 which is what i have done for all the games i have been to so far this season you might think well that isn't much to pay , if you go to 20 away games and pay £1.50 postage for each then that is £30 over the season basically you would get one game for free by not paying postage. i hope, as someone has said, it is just this match and not all away games
that said if there are no collections there is absolutely no reason they have to delay posting them out from next week

Maybe loads of people turn up at the home games to pick tickets up not only for the game but for the away games. Might just want to make it far less busy when there’s loads of people around for the game.

you are probably right, but then to charge people when you don't give them an option to collect is a bit off. hopefully it is only this game but i fear it will be to reduce footfall for collections, which will have got worse on match days now they have altered the opening hours so you can only collect late on a thursday during the week.

Maybe they shouldn't have reduced the ticket office opening hours then? What happened to trying to look after your customers?

That doesn’t make a difference. People won’t make a trip midweek and then another to go on the game. They’d still turn up at 2.30 with another load of people in the queue then whinging they’re missing kick off.

i used to call in regularly on my way home from work to collect mine , cant do that now except on a thursday which doesnt always suit , so had to resort to before the game, now they have taken that option away and charged me £1.50 for the privilege !!!
closing the TO early has probably meant more people turning up before a game leading to bigger queues so they have now said no collections as people will have missed kick off, so they have caused the problem, that said the complete lack of communication and the reasons for post only is another conversation altogether and what we have come to expect i guess.

It was done to improve the fan experience but having less hours open doesn’t seem to fit with that idea.

There are times where I don’t know if I can go till the day before … so I pick up … if you can’t do this then basically anyone that fancies going down on the day or last minute planning are screwed
I know loads of people that have decided on the day etc…
Unless you can buy them on the gate away which I don’t think you can do anymore
It seems spontaneous last minute away days are no longer an option

Obviously I understand those deciding to go to home games at the last minute it's the only option
I was thinking about ordering weeks before, mainly for away games. The way the world is now, most people who order stuff online expect it delivering, are football fans different? Or is it still a small minority who order online but don't want them delivering?

I order plenty of things online for delivery. The difference is that the product always arrives. That hasn't been the case with away tickets, leading to a poor experience, hassle and a lack of confidence in receiving tickets by post.

If we sell 3000 away tickets, I would still think its a small percentage that don't turn up, it might seem more because people moan about it, and you don't hear about the thousands that turn up without problem.

I've no idea. I guess it would be a small minority. And I'm sure those who have suffered hassle and inconvenience are a relatively small number. But I imagine it's not as small as you may think given the poor experience of the many people who have raised concerns. Irrespective of the numbers, some people have lost confidence in receiving tickets by post, especially when they have been affected several times.

You only need one trip to pick up your re-printed ticket at the away ground to make you think that collection is a far safer option.
If you haven't experienced that, good for you.
Just to be clear, this follows a non-delivery, which happens more frequently in the world of BFC than, say, Amazon.

I'm still waiting for 9 Sunderland tickets! And when I went to collect them at Sunderland there must have been around 200 others in the queue!

Precisely. Or, worse still, the hassle of collecting reprints from the ground, only to find people in your seats because the originals were sent to someone else. It's good that there will be many people who haven't experienced such inconvenience; less so with someone belittling is as just moaning.

If you're referring me, I didn't belittle anyone, all I said is that is why you hear about it. If mine didn't come I might have a moan as well

As I've just posted, at Sunderland there were up to 200 Burnley fans queuing in their Ticket Office having to pick up posted tickets which never arrived!

I've had three other occasions since.
Mrs dc probably buys from Amazon every week, and they've lost one delivery in the same time period.

Anyone know when (roughly) they would release details of away tickets for Boro on 29 December, also as we are both Senior STH do they allow one of the tickets to be upgraded to an adult. You can tell I haven’t been to an away game for year's can’t you.
Thank you in advance.

I've picked up my tickets for every away game since the fiasco for the Shrewsbury pr-season game 2 seasons ago. The postal service in Burnley can't be trusted as I often get my mail in batches rather than day by day for some reason. Then you add in the chaotic nature of our ticket office and it was always better to pick them up myself.
Now I'm not being given that option and paying £1.50 for the worry they may not get to me in time.
Having said that the stupid new opening hours don't help. I went down last Thursday to pick up my Millwall tickets and had to sit in my car for an hour to wait for the office to open at 5pm. I had been on earlies so the earlier times weren't possible anyway. I was lucky it was Thursday and had a late opening.
A backwards step. In several ways. Not like they will care.

According to the website it's possibly 25th November. I'd email or ring prior to the date and ask as there's been issues recently with people buying outside of their age groups.

I think that it's from next season that all tickets in the PL will be digital, so definitely moving towards ticketless games and probably only online purchases.

This news is a bit of a bummer. My son has asked Leisure several times to collect tickets for away games and meet at the venue, which has been wonderful, thanks, Leisure. He lives in the south-east midlands and his job means it is often difficult to know if he can get to a game until it's too late for the postal option. End of that scenario then.
