Happy to eat my words on E-R. Thought he looked really shaky earlier in the season, but he has been excellent these last few weeks.

Good post-match interviews as well. You can tell he was frustrated with the result yet at the same time confident in the team.

Very harsh player ratings.

Hands up, I thought he was league 1 standard at best.
Glad to be proven wrong, he's just inexperienced, looks to be improving week by week.

Probably should be extending his contract right about NOW: he’s already been here over two years.

To me he is one of the few players who continues to improve and will be one we will find hard to hang on to. Do City have a buy back option

Same, I didn't think he'd make it. Looked a calamity waiting to happen at first, just shows what experience and playing games can do. Makes you wonder if there's any other with a high ceiling like him, if they get a decent chance. (I'll still write them off at first, obvs).

Well done to him, he’ll win it again after last nights performance.

Yes, I too was doubtful about him, but his partnership with Esteve is looking very solid and long may it continue.
Keeping hold of both of them in January must be a priority.

Ditto.

He’s really surprised me and looks superb at this level.

Just to add, he’s very quickly becoming one of our most prized assets and one of the first names on the team sheet, which is quite remarkable considering we probably wouldn’t have seen much of him if our other centre halves were fit.

Always feel more confident with a solid centre half pairing. Davis and Pender. McGreal and Cahill. Mee and Tarkowski. CJ and Esteve give me a similar level of confidence.

Just reading 'Davis and Pender' and 'Mee and Tarkowski' makes me feel calmer and relaxed.

He was excellent last night, and against Millwall, only loses his place to injury or suspension now.

Since he hit the four bookings mark seems to have realised that it’s not a great idea to trap off to the ref and get yourself suspended.

Walking the tightrope seems to have calmed him down.

He's doing really well and is clearly a good footballer. I'd need to see him against strong, fast strikers and teams that try and attack us before finalising my thoughts on just how good he is. If he was a couple of inches taller, he'd be even better.

Not sure how old he is but maybe he will soon be considered for England U21's?

Did we buy him or was he out of contract at City?

A free transfer according to transfermarket, I remember city fans were not best pleased at the time. He has just over 18 months left on his contract here.

you don't get game time in a Pep team unless you have good ability. I'm really pleased for him. I was hoping Massengo would do similar but the move doesn't seem to be working out for him at the moment which is a shame.

A shining example of a fringe player being offered the chance and seizing it with both hands.. looks very assured with or without the ball and amazingly still only 21.. well done CJ

Last night , in terms of defending he reminded me of a right footed Ben Mee however CJER is a lot better with the ball than Mee.

He can pick a pass (started the move for Brownhill goal at Wednesday) and I seem to recall when THB and CJER signed from City, they would have preferred to have kept CJ over THB, perhaps they saw more potential in him? Anyway I hope he continues to maintain his current form.

I couldn't remember but had a feeling we didn't pay for him.

Maybe I imagined it, but did the Sky commentator last night quote Pep as saying CJ-ER rarely makes mistakes?

Did someone say he only has 18 months left on his contract? Hopefully a new deal before the summer then.
