One of the FB pages i follow shows pages of results from the past, this time it is November 1975. There are a number of scorers with past or future links to our club, I will give the teams and see if you can work out who the players are.
Burnley lost 1-5 at home to Wolves, 2 of the Wolves goals scored by a player with links
Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool a scorer on each side
AFC Bournemouth 1-0 Scunthorpe

Not sure who Burnsley were playing.

I remember the Wolves game. I think I left after the fifth went in. Was Steve Kindon playing that day? And Geoff Palmer?

A new year just been posted, 1969. Lots of FA cup first round games so only Div 1 & 2 games and only 1 scorer with a link to our club.
PNE 4-1 Birmingham. 2 goals for PNE but who was the scorer with the Clarets link?

Great match/fans/atmosphere in the ground.
Walked back to Earls Court tube station surrounded by moaning Chelsea fans, that lovely warm feeling stayed with me until every one had gone their separate ways

Back to 1996 and in the day we beat Lincoln City 2-1 in the first round of the FA Cup with goals from Nigel Gleghorn and Damian Matthew, players with links to our club scored for:

Can't offer any for PNE or Kidderminster other than than the ones CTID has given. Have no idea on Chester but I think it will be either Andy Farrell or John Deary for Rochdale.

Remember watching that Wolves game on MOTD. We weren't on often.
The one thing I recall was it ******* down on the poor souls standing on the Beehole. Just to make matters worse.

The Chester Scorers on that day were Stuart Rimmer (2) and Andy Milner. Did either ever play for Burnley?

If they were their scorers then I’m not aware of either having played for us.

Typo in the post then. It has Andy Kilner as the scorer.

Back to 1984 now and to an FA Cup weekend that saw the Clarets delivering a thumping 9-0 victory away at Penrith. Meanwhile players for the following sides with links to our club also found themselves in the scoresheet. But who were the players?
