I am watching Children in Need on BBC1 and there was a young Welsh Burnley fan just on called Ethan, he was dancing with performers from the Greatest Showman.

Brilliant to watch the lad and hoping they will raise a lot of money tonight.

I have it on. There have been some terrible presenters over the years but actually looks like a decent group this time.

The best reason to have a night listening to music and a few bottles of wine Children in need.

That “Bellend” you’ve referred to has raised over £8 million for Children in need. I’ve shared his emotion this week. I know a lot on here for whatever reason don’t like him, I’m probably in the minority I’ve always enjoyed listening to him. What he’s done this week will make a difference to young children and for that he should feel very proud. A wonderful achievement.

You might not find Paddy McGuinness funny, but he’s always come across as a decent, down to earth bloke, so I can’t understand some of the hatred at all.

The amount he’s raised for Children in Need this week is quite remarkable.

Always found him mildly amusing in a low level way . Can’t knock him for raising £8m ! insane . Though this is all about the sheer power of tv , social media etc . It’s hardly Beefy Botham’s walk or Walliams swimming the Thames as Charidee challenges go , but superb total .

He's doing this for himself. He could raise a billion and it would be superb - but it's what he gets from it. Well done Paddy. 300 miles and 8 million quid for the youngsters. Good man. I went to see him pass by on his cycle ride near Blackpool and he gave high fives and said thanks to everyone for turning out to support him. Fantastic effort.

Maybe he is, but what he has done is worthy of praise all the same. To raise that sort of money for charities is incredible. Without the high profile there is no way that amount would have been pledged, so it works both ways.

At West Brom last week they paraded a Colonel guy that had cycled down the whole western coast of France to raise money for the British Legion, I think, but he 'only' raised £81k. A chap in front of us at the game said he had ridden from Gloucester to Arnhem in commemoration of Operation Market Garden and to raise money for a charity, forget which, and he 'only' made £8k.

If people cannot show a bit of respect for someone who has raised all this money for charity then I’m assuming you have some major issues in your life.

Some pathetic comments on here. I wonder what they have achieved in life to be so critical and judgemental. It's for charity after all, presumably motivated by him having three children who each have a disability.

Watched paddy cycle past my house,on his way up beattock summit in scotland...one hell of a pull even on a proper bike..he was doing great
and i got a high five and a huge smile....the guy done good like him or not he has completed a huge task for children in need,and raised a huge
ammount of money,so come on clarets give him some credit.

Having met the bloke about 10 years ago in Portugal he came across as decent great sense of humour and joined in the banter , certainly not up his own backside.

Celebrities shouldn't be paid for doing charitable work even if it is promoting the exposure. It's contradicting the essence of the cause in my view.

Being a talentless bellend and raising money for charity aren't mutually exclusive.

Examples are many fold.

Charity needs a name change, how about "People needing a great salary by pretending their real objective is to raise money for needy children"

Children shouldn't really be "in need" in our country. Maybe if the King sold his gold carriage, or Michelle Mone paid back her stolen loot, just a thought.

Bob Geldof and Bono raised millions of dollars for famine relief and other causes through their work with Live Aid, Band Aid, and Live 8
They are still both bellends though.

I had a mate back in the early 70's who had a Chopper bike and it was bloody unrideable style over function. OK for riding round the village, but nowt like a decent bike with proper derailleur gears, instead of the old Sturmey Archer 3 speed.

Exactly ! I'm sure that the OP wasn't expecting some of the crap that's turned up on this thread...the guy raised £ 9million for God's sake and that was some ride on a bike like that .
