Update on Colonoscopy

Well, I had the procedure on September 9th and you were all right, a bit of a weird sensation but certainly not painful. I was told I would get the results between 2 to 4 weeks as I had 3 polyps removed. After 5 weeks I received nothing so I rang the hospital and they said they would send the results out immediately. After 9 weeks I rang them again and they then told me over the phone I was all clear. I have nothing but praise for the NHS but surely someone must have known my results earlier than 9 weeks. Good job I'm a glass half full guy.

Good to hear all clear.
Admittedly the time you’ve had to wait to hear it was clear isn’t great, but if there was something there you would have been notified earlier.
The results are reviewed timely, it just there’s that many it takes time to notify and priority is taken

Glad the results are good. The treatment side of the NHS is generally fine - despite waiting lists - but the follow up admin' is just poor.

Great news that rayzer. Although the results were late at least they produced the right result.

Excellent news rayzer - the result and not the wait.
When you’ve had a medical procedure and are then left waiting it really is worrying. I had my diabetic retinal screening recently. I’d no concerns, wasn’t expecting there to be an issue, but the four week wait for the results left me with the worries when I really didn’t to.

Delighted for you rayzer.
But it's plain wrong you had to wait so long for the results.

That must have been a worrying wait. Glad it's turned out well.

That is unacceptable.

To many chiefs and not enough Indians, a friend of ours has recently quit an admin role at the East Lancs NHS Trust, overworked, not respected, understaffed etc.
Glad your results are good.
