Anthony

I know some don't like this guy, but I think he's going to be so important in our promotion chase. Doesn't beat a man too often, but if he has something to aim at in the box he often hits the target.

His positioning in the box is excellent too, he's got a strikers instinct for knowing where the ball will go. While he's maybe not as exciting as Koleosho, he will give you assists and goals. After not even playing last year I think he'll only get better too.

Thought he was very good today. Anyone changed their mind on him yet?

He is way too reliant on confidence. He's invisible most of the time but when he does something good he then turns into Messi for 15 minutes before gradually disappearing again. I can't say he's a favourite of mine but he's a decent wideman at this level.

He’s a good player, our best signing of last summer in my opinion. Yes, he’s had some bad games and he missed that sitter at Hull, but by and large he’s proven to be quite effective and has a couple of assists and should have 3 goals but for the joke decision at West Brom.

A couple of good assists for Foster and Flemming also.
I gave him a 7 today in the players ratings but on reflection I should have given him an 8. Played very well today.

Just goes to show how silly it was playing koleosho on the right, Anthony has been far more effective on the right.

Look at how many touches a game Anthony makes compared with Koleosho, it's like 20-30 more touches a game; that to me signifies that he's got good footballing IQ, gets on the ball and knows how to affect the game.

It's something that I thought Vitinho was very good at as well.

Anthony is improving as the season goes on, and you can see his confidence growing with each game - long may it continue... superb today.

I haven’t been impressed but today he was very good. More of those type of performances and he will be a fan favourite

Had this conversion today with my mate...
We all, including myself didn't think Egan Riley was good enough.

Lesson to us all, give them time

I think we all thought that early doors ... Steve has really made a partnership with C J E-R and has brought him on leaps and bounds 👍

Spot on. I thought Egan-Riley was league 1 standard.

A modern day Di Branchio who puts in a shift and deserved his goal

Just hope he don’t get 18 goals and the fans get too attached

Egan Riley was extremely highly rated as a young lad at City and apparently we pulled off something of a a coup securing him. Personally I'd failed to see this "hype", especially after his cameo in the Blackburn game. But needs must and he stepped into the back four when I suspect he wouldn't have been first choice and suddenly we're seeing what he's all about. He's been absolutely excellent. Good luck to him.

Had a couple of poor games but has come in for unwarranted criticism on here at times. Out of our two current wingers he’s the one able to provide an end product and nobody can fault his work rate.

I think he looks more balanced on the right currently than the left. He produced 4 or 5 super deliveries from the right side which had we had more runners into the box (and in particular had Koleosho committed to gambling at the far post) would have led to great chances. His link up with Roberts and Hannibal was incisive too

He is the "most game-changer " member of our squad. His goals and assists have yielded a good points total

I feel like he's one of those players who's great to have when we're in possession, and can deliver a great ball into the box, or run onto a cross himself like we saw today. Still get the feeling he goes missing at times though.

For a player that reportedly can’t play on the right he was at it today.
Loved his combos with Roberts & Hannibal to get him off down the line. Reminded me of Neville, Keane and Beckham and that’s high praise from me.

It's the Championship, what are we expecting players to be?
He's been nothing but excellent overall and has got vital goals and provided assists in a short space of time. He's a major part as to why we are where we are in the league. And people describe Koleosho as exciting, brrrrrr. It seems style over substance is now better!

The finish by Anthony for the goal was superb. A much more difficult chance than it looked.

My mate who seems to be a fount of all knowledge on all things Man City said to me when we signed Egan-Reilly and Harwood-Bellis that we'd done very well to get CJ in particular. The view was that if anybody was going to break through from the youth team to be in the reckoning among the first team, it was him.
