Sad to say I received word today of the passing of Norman. A lifelong Claret, who refereed in the local football leagues and would have known to former local sportsmen. He himself played cricket and football for the Brunshaw Pub. Although he was seriously ill, he still gathered the strength to attend home games, until recently. RIP.

The person who informed me of Norman's passing, added it was the Brunshaw Youth Club Old Boys and Park View he played for.

When I saw the name I thought I knew him. A good friend of my brother and his first wife, another big Claret who passed away not long ago, was a good family friend.
My brother was shocked when I told him this morning.

Norman lived in padiham years ago then moved to lower manor Lane, and yes drove taxis for white line at the mitre for years while working at BEP.
