Try it with the Wifi setting on private network rather than a public one

Re: Printer/Scanner Offline - HELP
Taken from online. One of them might help.
1. Power and Connections:
Ensure your printer is powered on and all cables (USB or power) are securely connected.
If using a wireless connection, verify the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
2. Printer Status:
Open the "Devices and Printers" window in Windows.
Right-click on your Epson printer and select "See What's Printing."
Check if "Use Printer Offline" is ticked. If so, untick it.
3. Troubleshooting Steps:
Update Printer Drivers:
Visit the Epson website and download the latest drivers for your specific printer model.
4. Uninstall any old drivers and install the new ones.
Reinstall Printer:
Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners."
Remove your Epson printer.
Restart your computer.
Add your printer again by following the on-screen instructions.
5. Check Network Connection:
If using a wireless connection, ensure your router is working properly and your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
Try restarting your router and printer.
6. Windows Firewall:
Temporarily disable your Windows Firewall and try printing again. If it works, you may need to create firewall rules for your printer.
7. Epson Software:
If you have any Epson-specific software installed, try restarting it or reinstalling it.
Additional Tips:
Check for Error Messages: Look for any error messages on your printer's display or in Windows.
Consult the User Manual: Refer to your printer's user manual for specific troubleshooting steps.
Contact Epson Support: If you've tried all these steps and your printer is still offline, contact Epson support for further assistance.

Probably worth restoring to a time where you weren’t having any issues.

Re: Printer/Scanner Offline - HELP
I tried everything yesterday including switching off either printer or laptop or both, all without success. I've switched on this morning and it's back online. It must have decided not to work on Thursdays.

Having spent my career working on computer software and knowing and understanding what was going on, I'm now like a novice when things go wrong.

An IT pro at work told me to always attach devices with a cable if you are able to do so.

It always was but with all the moving around I’ve had to do in the house it’s not really possible. Without doubt the best way if you can.dougcollins wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 11:54 amAn IT pro at work told me to always attach devices with a cable if you are able to do so.
