I thought he was bang average and very well marshalled by Humphreys.

Really good player and very modest in his after match interview, would look better in claret and blue.

Agree with MD, he was outplayed by Humphreys 90% of the game.

Thought he looked a real talent, but similarly, a huge amount of credit should go to our left back this evening.
Humphreys had his number

Probably the best player we’ve come up against this season and his stats make him one of the most effective attacking players in the league so far. That said, Humphreys once again had a fine game.

I’m pretty sure sky must be his agent. To be fair to the lad he looked embarrassed in the post match interview when the woman interviewer asked what it was like having a football pitch as his playground.
Sure he’s a good player but average at best tonight,

Best player I’ve seen this season at the turf and Humphreys did really well against him too.
He’ll go on to the top half of the prem in my eyes.

Didn’t think he did much apart from that dribble and shot that went narrowly wide in the first half.Thought Humphrey’s did really well against him other than that.

Similar to gyokeres when he was at Coventry against us. We handled him well that night but you can sometimes just see it in a player that he’s better than the level he’s playing at

Apparently one of the best young wingers in Europe - not sure what that makes Humphreys…

The worry with that kid is he got a kick and then went in his shell for a bit, it’s the intangibles that define whether he makes it. He has also got arguably the best player in the world currently keeping him out of his club side. He could easily become a bench player and never blossom.
If he adds some steel and variety, he has a great chance.

Liverpool don’t tend to sign bad players. Scouting network up there with the very best.
He was head and shoulders over any of our wingers today. And we rate Koleosho at 40 million. 19 years old. Lads going to the very top. Humphreys will too.

A good contest Doak and Humphreys. Humphreys did well particularly considering he's a central defender. But we had pacy wingers two seasons ago.and they did us proud.

Funny enough I was going to say he wasn't any better than Sarmiento, although he was playing as a 10.
After they scored he was unplayable in the first half.

Scousers have a January recall clause in his loan deal - I hope they recall him. I thought he was excellent and you can see why Boro have scored loads of goals, they missed two sitters tonight - that said, they hardly got a kick first half.

Sarmiento was our best attacking player by a mile tonight. What a tricky, aggressive, positive player he is. Be incredible if we could sign him permanently

Head and shoulders over any of our wingers today is laughable,he literally had that one run and shot in the first half and that was it.

He didn’t at all. He ran at us second half and played in a few great passes. Turning players inside out. Our wingers were yet again lacking. Anthony and koleosho both really lack confidence. Sarmiento is shining in that 10 roll but I’d be tempted to stick flemming in there and get him out wide causing damage.

Agree to disagree with Doak but I do agree with you when it comes to Sarmiento and flemming.

You mean the lad who went down like he’d been shot to try and win a free kick and time waste. He’s a cheat. Although to be fair two of his colleagues did exactly that late on that the ref did nothing about it.

They had 2 golden chances in the second half to seal the game but the game was pretty even throughout. The main positive for me is we are nowhere near our full strength team and if we can keep ourselves in a good position till Jan then we have a good chance

Heard there’s been a bug sound the rounds. Could be ******** but would make sense. Big game Tuesday now I think we’ll see him change it up even more, Norwich Sunday too. Another 3 games in quick succession . We are crying out for a striker to help Jay

It was like watching a very young Michael Owen. Humphrey’s did ok but it took quite some time before he got even close to him. He was as good as any winger we have had in recent years and it was obvious he was class as it is unusual for so many people especially Burnley fans comment on an opposition player.Well played indeed.

So far he’s been compared to viktor gyokeres who is scoring a goal a game for sporting Lisbon and now Michael Owen. Not bad for someone who had zero impact on the outcome of the game.

I only compared him to Gyokeres from your previous post of him not doing much. Gyokeres didn’t hurt us for Coventry but any opposing fan with a brain could see he was class.

When we were rumoured to be in for him there was some on here saying he wasn’t up to it,you could see off that one performance at the turf that he was more than up to it even though he didn’t bag,I just didn’t see that with Doak tonight except for that one run in the first half.
