94 of them….
I can’t think of any circumstances we would ever take so many ?
When was the last time we took that for a league game ?

Millwall, the season we were banned until last minute?
I was there, didn’t feel like many more.

I'm sure I've seen us take more than 94 to some away games

Think we were given around 250 tickets a week or so before the game.

Fair play to them, don't think they have won away all season and the game is available on the TV.
Games have been available on TV for years but the option to watch all midweek games on the box will change people's habits. We are starting to see it at the Turf and it will begin to make season tickets far less attractive than they were. Good luck getting walk ons to pay £40 once fans relinquish their season tickets.

A sad sight and it's probably the way football is going at this level.
It's all on tv and is competing with the new champions league format at the same time

When I switched the WBA game on last night there was plenty of empty seats bang on the halfway line. Now they must be ST holders of many years to get such seats. Die hards if you will.
You don't really notice it at the Turf with the Directors box/corporate being in camera view.

Any fan who travels to support their side deserves respect especially on a midweek, 2 weeks before Christmas aswell.
Unless it’s them lot down the road & their shambles of a following at Sheff Wed, then laugh laugh laugh!

There are more Dingles in Emmerdale than Knobbers at away games

Well done I remember WHU always packing the away end at the Turf on Tuesday night's also QPR with less than 60 on a Saturday pm.PNE deserve a decent team as Preston is a football town unlike football cultural deserts Milton Keynes and Oxford United

One of the strangest trends in football which you see across various sites is people who haven't or don't go away mocking other clubs for their followings.
Their following last night was 218 rather than 94. We have had plenty saying they can't be arsed going on home games and they live in Burnley

I've just seen a Blackburn fan put this up on twitter and state even Burnley's away support wasn't that bad in the 80s.
I know the home gates got a bit small in the 80s but I've never heard anyone say our away followings were bad.

I genuinely think football is better on tv than it is live. Fair play to anyone who travels home and away if that’s your bag, but I couldn’t think of anything more futile.

Football is now more geared up for the tele, especially for the foreign market, I must admit many more home games midweek like the Derby borefest and even diehards will question the wisdom of season tickets when you can sit at home and switch over.

For me being there is far more enjoyable than on the tv, it is the day out with your mates and the atmosphere of the match which never comes through on the tv.
We have a family birthday meal on Sunday so none of us are going Norwich and I will more than likely stay for a few drinks after rather than rush back to watch

Post Leyton Orient it was largely good.

I’m fairly ambivalent to PNE apart from mild amusement about their annual “fight against promotion” where most seasons they put a good run together and get very briefly get close to play offs , then fall away into nothingness . They usually travel in reasonable numbers tbf and midweek winter games being shown live hugely reduces numbers on these type of games .

I don't know exact figures but we do have a lot of fans who travel several hours to be at home games. Can be hard midweek with work etc to do it, especially in December when there's lots of other committments. If you can just go home and watch it then it can make it worth missing the odd game.

Correct and once the amount of games you miss reaches the threshold between season ticket cost/value for money, you have a decision to make. The movement of Saturday games to 12.30pm is also a big negative.

Living down here I went to Plymouth away midweek during waddles time, I believe there was about 20 or so of us and one of those was my mate who doesn’t even follow football but came with me for company

I've made 2 games so far and my next one is Oxford at home in February. I'll likely renew in the hope we get back up and games will be more often on Saturday afternoons.

The 12.030 slot is stupid how they are doing it.
Preston Leeds is live this Saturday at 12.30
Sky are also showing
Bristol City - QPR
Coventry - Hull
Bolton - Wigan
Orient - Burton
Salford - Notts Cty
Tranmere - Harrogate
There is no need to move any of those other games

I probably miss too many home games to make it an economical purchase but I can't see a scenario where I will not renew.
Not much about being a Burnley (or any other) fan makes financial sense.

Not all fans live in the town of their club by the way. I see loads on the train when I travel and I’m 200 miles from Burnley. Maybe those bobbers are all woollybacks

Burnley away following was great throughout my attendances from 70s until now.

PNE reporting it as 218. Fair play to them- I’m not going to comment on low numbers as it’s a ground I’ve never been to never mind on a Wednesday night.
I think we had a similar following there numbers wise in a League Cup tie.

Think midweek followings like that will become routine with this new TV deal. The whole ground just looked empty and depressing though.
