Re: Pace on Tresor
Pace confirmed that Tresor is fully fit, and he expressed his hope that he would soon be able to help Burnley in their promotion push, but he stopped short of explaining the exact reasons behind his current absence.
"Whether or not that will happen, your guess is as good as mine right now to be fair.
"I don't see Mike going anywhere right now, so we'll see.
"But he is here, that I can promise you, I see him regularly, he's training and he's fully fit."

Re: Pace on Tresor
A player is a disgrace to football, if he has been fit and refuses to play.
Re: Pace on Tresor
I’d be amazed if he plays for us again.

Having seen the interview, this was the telling bit for me. With the way it was said it very much gave me the impression of a stand off between club and agent/player. It looks pretty clear that we are refusing to sell unless he contributes first (which is what was also implied by the coo previously), but Tresor/his agent is saying he will not play for the club.
I don't see any option for us in that case but to sell.

Re: Pace on Tresor
You can live with Beyer having a serious long term injury, and Foster having had mental issues, Ramsey a long term injury and when you get that transparency the fan base is generally behind you hoping that you will come back stronger. When you hear Tresor has been back training for some time, is our record signing, but for whatever reason not even making the U-21's or the first team squad, then sorry but this creates hatred of the player from some fan quarters. Can't the club that purports to be transparent see this

Let him rot with the under 18 teams and fine him at every opportunity,we don’t need rotten apples in the squad.

How many of us have told our employers or past employers that they dont want to come in to work for them again, and be able to continue being paid by themGoliath wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 11:43 am"I don't see Mike going anywhere right now, so we'll see"

Re: Pace on Tresor
This is a perfect example of why we should not pay a player thats fully fit but refuses to play. Surely theres a clause in his contract.

Re: Pace on Tresor
Definitely outright refusing to play or similarly making excuses to get out of playing.
Off camera I asked Pace again and he said that he wants to see him play, but he couldn't promise me Tresor feels the same way.

Certainly rules out him not playing because Parker doesn't deem him good enough.Poulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 11:50 amOff camera I asked Pace again and he said that he wants to see him play, but he couldn't promise me Tresor feels the same way.

That's what is wrong with modern day players and their agents dictating what they do , i hope if it's true he refuses to play i wouldn't have him anywhere near the club,

Yep, really strange situation as you would think that, if he is such a bad apple, why would we be letting him train with the rest of the first team and potentially dragging squad morale down.hoosier-daddy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 11:53 amCertainly rules out him not playing because Parker doesn't deem him good enough.

Yep....the kind of thing Pace needs to say if he's hoping to get marginally more than buttons for him next month.

Re: Pace on Tresor
The PFA would no doubt back him to the hilt should we suspend him and stop paying his salary. The annoying thing is because it's the mad world of football, the only winner will be Tresor.
Re: Pace on Tresor
I’d back Pace and the club 100% if their view is
“You don’t want to play and damage our chances of promotion?”. “Okay, if you don’t turn up for training, you don’t get paid. You won’t play, you won’t be sold, we’ll damage your chances of having any kind of decent career”. “Balls in your court”.

Re: Pace on Tresor
I'm pretty sure Sarmiento referenced 'Tres' as one of the chaps he gets on with - sort of thing on the recent vid from the club. So it doesn't sound like he's dragging squad morale down.
Re: Pace on Tresor
I certainly would not let Mikey bully the club. Also shows other players. I wouldent let him any where near the club. No wages. And hold his registration. He would go nowhere.

Re: Pace on Tresor
And also why aren't we fining him weekly and indefinitely until he agrees to play. So it can't be as straightforward as simply refusing to play.Poulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 11:56 amYep, really strange situation as you would think that, if he is such a bad apple, why would we be letting him train with the rest of the first team and potentially dragging squad morale down.
Re: Pace on Tresor
I'd have thought it's a contractual thing meaning that unless he refuses to train the club's hands are tied.hoosier-daddy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 12:26 pmAnd also why aren't we fining him weekly and indefinitely until he agrees to play. So it can't be as straightforward as simply refusing to play.

Re: Pace on Tresor
With all due respect, I think we'd need to read his contract of employment and be specialised in employment law to know what the rights and obligations of both the player and the club.

It would be very easy for him to say he still isn't fully fit either physically or mentally I imagine following his illness. Not saying this has happened but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 11:48 amHow many of us have told our employers or past employers that they dont want to come in to work for them again, and be able to continue being paid by them
Re: Pace on Tresor
If he’s fit and refusing to play then Conor Robert’s needs to smash him with a very late tackle in training so he gets the picture.

Re: Pace on Tresor
No posters or fans of Burnley know the exact details of his not appearing on the team sheet.
It is possible that he has mental health issues or other possible reasons for not appearing in the matches.
Hope he is well and in the squad when he is ready

I'll stick with believing we have a buyer in January.

Re: Pace on Tresor
From what I’ve heard from somebody I trust who works at the club…. He’s often late and only puts in half arsed training sessions hence why he’s not being picked. Not fair to pick him over players giving 100%. I’ve no reason to doubt who told me but I’m sure some of you will

Re: Pace on Tresor
That’s a huge burden for the club to carry whatever his reasons for not playing are
Re: Pace on Tresor
You would have thought so. If he refuses then you simply suspend his pay. The trouble is clubs often have to tread carefully, they’ve laid out a substantial fee and would like to recover a good amount of it back. I think Pace is saying all the right things ( that he thinks we’d like to hear) but knows deep down he won’t play for us again. Tresor will be sold in January.

Re: Pace on Tresor
It's not really employment law, its contract law, and each clause in his contract will almost be exclusive to him. Also, you can only fine players 2 weeks pay for an infringement or for misbehaviour.
Players really do have clubs over a barrel.

Similar to Weghorst, Mike things he should be playing at a higher level and for a bigger club than us, so I can see he will be loaned out for the remainder of his contract and.or until someone offers us a decent fee.

How about a cut price deal to Bayern Munich?

Re: Pace on Tresor
Kind of glad Pace has addressed this now. Was getting the feeling Tresor has been getting away with it over the last few months, with the managers party line comments. Now we all know he's basically a mercenary, he might feel a modicum of guilt. But I very much doubt it.
What makes things worse is that we are crying out for a player with his skillet right now.

It's a shame we haven't the money to hold him to his contract. He would either have to play to sell himself or sit there for another 3 years.
