I think we are being to sentimental re the impact he'd have playing for us, he's 35 and and just recovered from another serious injury. I'd love him back though on the coaching staff, not because it's good old Ash, but I really think he is a very intelligent highly regarded footballer.

Great player for us over the years but stayed about two seasons too long because of a lacklustre transfer policy to replace him. (Will rightly go down in history for the 3-0 derby win.)
As for coaching staff... is he a good coach? Is he qualified?

Not sure, I thought he'd started getting his badges but I might be mistaking him with someone else. He's certainly a leader on and off the pitch.

I should have checked first, he's started his badges.

Brilliant signing for us and I think we should have kept him last season even if he hadn’t played too many games.
But he’s gone now and we should be so pleased we had him for as long as we did.

People remember different players for different reasons but Ashley in my eyes will be remembered for scoring some great goals, some memorable goals ( Rovers) , winning diabolical free kicks pushing Kaminski in the net but when he referred to Rover as the Bastards in the TV interview well, not classy but absolutely marvellous.
