Any clarets fans travelling by train from Manchester to rovers game fancy a meet up beforehand. Couldn't get on the coaches so going direct by train from Manchester.

I would take a guess at the police giving fans arriving by train an escort straight to the ground.

I suspect that if you are dressed in black, look a bit vacant and have goggles in your hood then yes. If you are dressed like a normal person and look calm and not acting the goat, I reckon you could walk to the ground without too much trouble.

Is there any pubs left in Blackburn? I'd be amazed if the police let Burnley fans make their own way from the train station to the ground, even the more sensible types.

Still trying to work out how to get to the game from Burnley.
Didn’t manage to get a coach ticket.
Do you think there will be coaches from blackburn station and then back after the game for away fans?

Anyone got any better ideas?

I would get the train or taxi there and then just jump on one of the buses back. Even if you have to stand for 20 minutes. Never been the same people on the same buses going back and nobody checks tickets.

Don’t do that. If they are counting the amount of people going on each bus and those who’ve paid can’t get on, it’s not fair is it?

Do you think the police are going to allow Burnley fans to just hang around Ewood after the game because one more person got on a coach?

Have you ever been to an away game where the police are on edge?

Almost got an answer to my original question. Well aware of the protocols likely to be in place from blackburn railway station. More a question of anyone going from Manchester direct and might like a pint beforehand like at a spoons in Manchester , but I appreciate the replies

Fair play Dassey. I always like meeting new clarets, and certainly enjoy a few beers in Manchester but am on the Accy Clarets Coaches.

The away supporters coaches always go to Darwen now, I see them most weeks. Not sure if they will allow any of our coaches there though, I doubt it.

However, if you jump off at Darwen instead of Blackburn, there are some decent pubs in the town and it's only a 5 minute taxi to the ground or a 30 minute walk, if you're sensible and just have a few pints you won't get any trouble.

Only the 100 braindeads who probably wanted to be escorted for social media and thinking they are hard. I saw a couple of mates who support them lot in Burnley TC who got the train. Like I say, if you're not an idiot it's fine.

They are giving everyone on the coaches a wristband which you need to retain for the return journey.

If you look on Twitter you should be able to find Manchester Clarets. One of my mates is one of them and he's having a beer in Manchester first.

If you get yourself to Bolton, the number 1 bus goes from there to Blackburn every 20 mins, right past the ground.

They've just lost Lewis Travis for six weeks and Harry Pickeriing for eight to twelve weeks. Travis has been one of their better players.

Travis is an important player for them but if Pickering was going to play at left back instead of Beck, then I'd say the injury is a bigger blow for us than them. Beck is a far better player.

I never refer to them as Rovers. It sounds too endearing. It's either Blackburn or B*s*a*ds.

They are getting proper giddy!! It's very entertaining, for a team that don't score many, they somehow think they are going to turn up and smash a team with far greater quality and depth than theirs, who also happen to have the tightest defence in the league.

A team they haven't beaten for 14 years and in that time they have hardly threatened our goal.
We have scored more than them and conceded ½ as many goals as them.

It will be a tight game I reckon but lads I know who support them are gutted about Travis not being available. He's like their Barnes, can play but offers so much by being a $h** house, in the refs ear, winding the opposition up and giving those niggly free kicks away.

They are selling tickets well for the game as they think this is their time, finally it's their day, the stay aways have faith and have returned.

We have been inconsistent, (performance wise - results have been good and we are in a fantastic position) however, turn up like we did against Watford and we will wipe the floor with them.
Remember, we have been better and more expansive away from home. They are bad at attacking, Gueye has 1 goal so far, and after a lively start Ohasi hasn't bagged for months.

Hold our nerve, and I can't see anything other than Status Quo, the more of their support who can be there to see it the merrier. Just a shame there will be 3 thousand empty seats in the upper tier that they were too scared to sell us.

Police will be all over train stations at both ends. Not a chance anybody will be able to make their own way their once you arrive on a train from Burnley no matter how your dressed your getting escorted end of. And yes they can stop you from going anywhere if they want to

Don’t wish injuries on any team or player but tis the season for injuries now. If we can manage not to pick up any more and get players back, we might start to see our opponents and challengers get stretched.

You can wait at the train station and wait for the police convoy to leave pretty easily after getting off the train
