Trafford - 9 - calm and composed despite the pressure on every set piece and being immune to getting free kicks for any physicality.
Humphreys - 9 - solid under pressure and a fantastic assist
Roberts - 7 - good when he needed to be
CJ - 9 - solid and outstanding passing range
Esteve - 9 - standard performance
Cullen - 8 - helped set the tempo
Laurent - 8 - calm on the ball and some strong overlaps
Hannibal - 8 - probably his most mature performance for us, ran himself into the ground
Anthony - 8 - worked tirelessly and unlucky to not come away with a goal
Brownhill - 10 - MOM, fantastic captains performance
Flemming - 8 - +1 for the goal (away from the deflection). Tough shift up top but strong.

Well that turned out to be far more comfortable than I expected pected which actually shows how good we are. Make no mistake this was a huge marker of the progress - we just fairly routinely brushed aside the top of the league - unbeaten at home and on a run of 8 wins at hime with clean sheets in all those

Trafford 8 - oozed condidence
Roberts 9 - superb rarely gave them a sniff
CJ - 10 -- they couldn't get close and his passing was superb
Esteve 10 - as per CJ - superb
Humphries 10 * - like a fock and a perfect ball in for the opener
Cullen 9 - dictated play
Laurent 8 - took a while to get going but was superb again once he did
Brownhill 10 - everywhere - they couldn't handle him
Anthony - 9 - caused them.problems and unlucky not to score
Hannibal 9 - another good performance protected the ball.well and made it very difficult for them
Flemming 9 - a lot of dirty work done today but instrumental in both goals

Subs weren't o long enough but good to see Foster back.

Any one of about 4 or 5 could may e have been mom. I've gone for Bashir - he's getting better game by game - defensively Wass solid and a great assist for the opener.

Parker got that spot on. We really should be confident for Boro now and in fact confident for any team - we are starting to click here and i see no reason why we can't get automatic this season.

Trafford 9 - efficient at everything, so quick when sweeping
Roberts 8 - sharp again, clever use of the ball
Egan-Riley 9 - plays like a 28 year old
Esteve 9 - breezy
Humphreys 9* - sublime assist and won virtually every battle
Anthony 8 - tidy performance and off the ball excellent
Cullen 8 - helped us manage the game with ball retainment
Laurent 8 - won the physical battle in the middle
Hannibal 8 - good outlet and worked tirelessly
Brownhill 9 - brilliant goal and everywhere again
Flemming 8 - best game for us, stunning ball for the first

This was always going to be a game decided by a goal or two and not many chances, and it fully deserved to be us. Parker got it spot on again.

I was asked after Derby if I’d given my lowest ever marks. Today I’ve given every single player 8 or 9. I could see absolutely no reason to go below 8 for anyone, that’s how good we were.

Egan Riley 9-his distribution and reading of the game is excellent
Esteve 9
Humphreys 8, becoming for me our best LB since Stephen Ward
Brownhill 8 put on a real captain performance and very well taken goal
Cullen 7, got booked early but played his part
Laurent 7 got stronger as the game went on. Think we have found our best midfield threef
Hannibal 7 frustrating at times but his effort is incredible, and makes better decisions than Koleosho
Fleming 7 (one for the goal), otherwise a quiet game

Foster 7-loved what I saw when he came on-challenging and putting himself about. A welcome return

As good a performance as you will see against a team that has some of the best players in this division

Trafford 8 Well protected by the defence and wasn`t subjected to a lot of the physicality that Sheff U are known for but looked a very capable keeper today
Roberts 8 Steady away
EJ 9 A Rock with brilliant distribution
Estève 8 Defended well but distribution lets his game down
Humphries 8 Best game in a claret shirt
Cullen 9 Yellow card didn`t detract from his game brilliant MoM
Laurent 8 Grafted hard today
Anthony 8 Created some good openings and took up some good positions for the outball
Flemming 8 Linked play up well and wasn`t bullied by SU defenders
Brownhill 9 More like the Josh we know he can be and another goal to boot, AP really needs to tie him down on a new contract
Hannibal 8 Brilliant, seems to have his aggression under control (for now) but what an engine and carried the ball well into their half.

We seem to be hitting form as a team at the right time, just need to keep it going for the next 23.

Well done Scotty P 10

From TV.

Trafford - 9 - Pretty much faultless. Some super punches, tidy passing and even that very good long ball to Laurent.

Roberts - 8 - Another good game from him both in defence and up front.

Egan-Riley 10 - MoM - Immense in every way. What a player he is turning out to be.

Exteve - 9 - A worthy partner for E-R. Lots of good interceptions and covering.

Humphries - 9 - He is really progressing. Mostly kept a lid on O’Hare and effective in attack too. What control when he received the ball that led to the first goal. Forming a good partnership with Hannibal.

Brownhill - 9 - The three Josh’s are forming a good partnership, each seeming to understand what the other is up to. Good goal too.

Cullen - 10 - Top performance again. I was worried the early yellow card would affect his play but I needn’t have.

Laurent - 9 - Fills in gaps all over the pitch, goes on marauding runs and has a bit of a goal threat. Pity he couldn’t control Trafford’s pass.

Anthony - 8 - In his quiet way he is a real goal threat with some good crosses too, as well as working hard for the team. Perhaps a little more coolness in front of goal is required.

Flemming - 8 - A difficult job but stuck at it and is starting to have an effect. Awful free kick but well struck volley for our lucky second goal.

Hannibal - 8 - Having him on the left wing gives the team some balance somehow.

Subs:

Egan - Must have been good for him to come on against his old team.

Foster - Good to see him back. Lots of energy in his little cameo but also seemed to catch Soutar’s ankle for what may be a nasty injury.

Wow! What a result. What a performance.

Like others I was a bit worried we might get our comeuppance, as we did two years ago. I needn’t have. We imposed our style on the game and mostly controlled it via our midfield. Their attack was mostly nullified, their biggest threats coming, not surprisingly, from corners and free kicks. Our attack was best from free play. The first goal was excellent. The pass to Humphries, his tight control and move forward, a quality cross and players in the penalty area with Brownhill on the end. We even created a couple of chances from corners, short corners in fact (clearly work is going on in this area and I expect to see more in the New Year!). Some chances came in the second half too - the Trafford - Laurent move, Anthony’s run in from the right. As in recent games some of our team play is looking very tidy (I noticed at half-time some of the subs playing around and it all seemed to consist of relatively short passing amongst themselves).

We’ve won away at the two best teams. Leeds was a backs to the wall job although we created other opportunities too. And today we did it in our own style. Perhaps we are becoming a top team too!

The New Year is looking good.

Trafford 9 - exceptional when needed.
Roberts 8 - top, clever championship full back
Egan Riley 8 - Exceptional. Needs tying down for as long as possible as our future captain
Esteve 9 - level above
Humphreys 8 - can’t recall the terms to make permanent but we should be tying up ASAP. Esteve replacements won’t grown on trees and we have one already playing very well at left back.
Cullen 8 - The glue
Brownhill 9 - another great performance, should have had two
Laurent 9 - best pound for pound signing in recent seasons?
Anthony 8 - tireless, denied a goal by a great save
Hannibal 9 - made for these games
Flemming 8 - led the line well and occupied the centre halves well. His two best performance have come in the great results here and at Leeds when needed.

Trafford - 9 he was really impressive, Sheffield are a big physical side and thought he handled everything really well. He’s developed really well this season. He’s the player I’m most concerned about losing January.
Roberts - 8 he’s great at this level don’t think there’s many better
Egan Riley - 9 I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player develop at the pace he has. Credit to Parker and co they have uncovered a true gem.
Esteve - 9 both Egan Riley and Esteve are top cbs
Humphrey’s - 8 thought he was solid at the back and better going forward. Only slight constructive criticism is I would love it if he got forward more he’s got a great cross
Cullen - 9 beast at this level
Brownhill - 9 same as Cullen
Laurent - 9 what else is there to say, he’s been a revelation and he’s the first name on the sheet for me.
Anthony - 8 shows real flashes of quality and others not so. Today was a good day for him.
Hannibal - 8 off the ball he’s fantastic, thought there’s a lot of improvement required on the ball
Flemming - 8 thought he was quite quiet but got the important second goal

Weve gone away from home to top of the league woth a phenomenal home record (attack & defence) and completely controlled the game with a fully proffesional performance as good as ive seen in a match of that standing under all our previous successful managers, fair play Scott Parker ive been critical but that was brilliant 10

Trafford - 8 Dealt with the high ball and corners really well considering the pressure he was under.

Roberts 8 would have been a 9 if that left foot volley had gone in at the end!

Egan Riley 9 superb, his distribution second to none. The way he eased Moore off the ball to let others deal with the bits and pieces, very clever.

Esteve 8 not his best game, but still very good. Defensively solid, distribution and bit sloppy, nice to see him pop up on the wing in the 90th minute.

Humphries 8 continues to surprise, always an outlet and works well as pair with Hannibal. great cross for the goal.

Laurent 8)
Cullen 8) All three worked tirelessly both on and off the ball.
Brownhill 8) Brownhills goals are a real bonus.

Anthony- 8 Really enjoyed his performance, offers a lot and works that channel really well.

Flemming 8 Another who put a shift in, up against Souttar so not expecting to win much in the in air, but battled all day and got a deserved goal.

A fantastic team performance, Watford was very good. This was next level. The midfield nullified any threat that Sheff U offered so the had to resort to set pieces and free kicks which we dealt with collectively very well. Going forward very efficient. Two good goals, a couple of other chances, but the control of the game was excellent. Great stuff.

8 s all round for me. Hard to mark anyone lower after such a good team performance against a side with such a good home record. Good management and tactics and I like the look of that starting eleven. Cullen, Brownhill or Hannibal contenders for man of match. Even though everything didn’t come off I thought Hannibal put a real shift in and gave them a lot to deal with.

Trafford 8 - solid and decent control and distribution
Roberts 8 - not forward as often but defended diligently
Humphreys 9 - kept O’Hare quiet, got forward well and kept the ball
Esteve 9 - rock solid against a front four
Egan-Riley 9 - distribution top class and only weakness was a wobble in the early minutes
Cullen * 9 MOM - on a booking for most of the game but managed the tightrope brilliantly and is the best controller of a game in the league
Brownhill 8 - super tricky finish, quieter than normal but still good enough to win the game
Laurent 8 - the Londoner didn’t look out of place in the biggest match of his career so far
Anthony 8 - diligent rather than spectacular, obviously under instruction, in a match like this we can agree that is a correct tactic
Hannibal 9 - wonderful feet, they didn’t know how to handle him, suits our short passing, docked a point for nearly jumping on top of me and the kiddie in his wild celebration
Flemmimg 8 - a bit lucky with his finish but had a good game against giant defenders

A great performance by Man City, because that is who we are now.

Short, sharp passing. Midfielders playing wide. False 9 (pre Haaland). Midfield pivot dictating the game. Quietening a home crowd. This was Pep-ball all over.

That style needs confidence and ours came from that second half Norwich fightback. We now look to be flying and are probably the best team in the league. Leeds have more flair and Sheffield have more points but we have beaten both away, have them to come to us, and are killing games in surgical fashion.

Parker has done wonders, he warrants criticism for his tentativeness at home to minnows but overall has done a super job in trying circumstances (but has still spent big money let’s not forget). I now expect them to spend more and get the job done before May.

Well done Scott.

Tempting to give all the lads 10 but I’d rather not skew the averages.

Trafford 8 : No shortage of bravery. Burrows takes a very good corner and with giants like Moore and Souttar this was always going to be a key issue. He came out of it well. Particularly fearless with one intervention in the second half.
Roberts 8 : Another in a long line of sterling performances. He’s really got the fire in his belly right now. Outwitted Hamer mentally. He’s always up for a wind-up and Hamer fell into his trap.
CJER 9 : A rock. And, increasingly, a mobile rock who is very comfortable on the ball. Sublime crossfield pass in the first half.

Estève 9 : Estève just being Estève. Gave almost nothing away. Elegance epitomised.
Humpheys 9 MOM : In a game where you could give MOM to virtually everybody, I’m going for Bashir. We know he’s not a full-back but today he certainly looked like one. Excellent run spotted by Flemming and superb cross for the skipper to put us in the lead. One of many players who have improved through their own hard work and that of SP and his staff.
Cullen 9 : I think we were all worried when he picked up an early yellow. But he just got on with his game, intercepting, making dirty balls clean as the Italians say.

Laurent 9 : Tireless. Along with Josh Cullen and Hannibal, Josh Laurent put in a huge shift today. They harried and hustled and ran for 90 minutes to nullify the opponents thus giving Brownhill more liberty to ghost in to spaces à la Martin Peters.
Brownhill 9 : Excellently taken goal, a constant threat. Seven (outfield) goals by Boxing Day is a very decent return for a midfielder.
Anthony 8 : No shortage of effort and almost scored with one of his right-hand post surges.
Hannibal 9 : He seems to like this right-wing mularkey. Worked his socks off for 80 minutes. He’s actually no slouch, not as quick as Koleosho, of course, but he’s pretty quick. Just that lack of a cutting edge but it will come.
Flemming 8 : Not easy at all for a lone striker but started the move for the first goal with a superb reverse pass out to Humphreys. Got lucky with his goal but with the power in his legs it’s stupid not to try.

SP : 10. Ten for the preparation, ten for the line-up, ten for melding an army of men who will run through brick walls for him.

My view is SU have some very good players. But we were perfectly set up and implemented the gameplan perfectly. I wouldn’t bet against them going up automatically.
