"There was nothing in the game..."

I mean, I know as a manager you have to put the best spin possible on bad results, but come on, fella.

To admit they were second best Steve.
Maybe a bit naive of me admittedly.

Fair to say Wilder isn’t a good loser, I still like him though.

I thought this was one of his more complimentary interviews in that he admitted there were “two good teams” on the pitch :D

He’s a miserable sod with his squint-eyed Yorkshire-hard-man act. Don’t like him and very happy we beat them.

Wilder has become one of the worst losers around. He felt like one of the people the first time sheff united got promoted but he has turned into a really unlikeable bloke.

First half I felt like the ref gave countless of soft fouls in sheff uniteds favour

In contrast, Cleverley last week just admitted we were by far the better team. I haven't heard Wilder's comments but he has form of being a very poor loser. I do believe his arrogance has rubbed off on quite a few of their players. Hamer was an angry man from minute one. Their number 42 wanted to be a total div in the last couple of minutes. I genuinely think the Sheffield Utd players were way too wound up today and it played in to our hands.

Wilder was completely outfoxed by Parker, as home team had few clear chances or shots on goal, never sought to win the game which Burnley bossed from 1st to last. If he can’t see that Specsavers is next stop!

I don’t think Wilder and Knil his assistant are a formidable power
We exposed weaknesses in their play today and Parker definitely had the upper hand

He is a good guy Wilder, well thought of around here. Plays golf locally and knows quite a lot of people and I don’t know anyone who dislikes him. I know for a fact he admires Burnley as a football club and I thought he was fairly fair about the game today, and he must have been gutted to see his team stunted like that. I thought the first goal would win it so in that sense there wasn’t much in it.

I know someone who is now 89 who has that same natural pointed hair growth in the middle of his head as Wilder. He never had it when he weas younger.

No one likes losing and he has worked wonders on his team.

In certain quarters it's quietly believed he was after or in contention for SDs job when it was under threat I think SJ & him disagreed about attending when it was clear that he had. Not a lot to dislike overall but had a bone yesterday about the officiating wrong calls going against as most managers would on the wrong end.

He was on the three man shortlist in summer 2022 with Rooney and Kompany

I always expected as much but think this is the first time the third candidate has been confirmed.

I like Wilder but I’m definitely pleased with that choice.

I don't disagree with any of that. But a clear accusation got directed towards wilder attending TF whilst SD being manager. Chris wood also being the main recent hostile antagonist to SJs opinions. The guy didn't do well at CP some point must be reached that he isn't perfect but spot on certain things.

On the first series of Mission, Pace confirms there are three and says one is too like Sean Dyche, that's Wilder.

A lot of deluded fans kicking about. Rovers and Leeds in absolute overdrive deludedness. Personally I really like Sheff United, it would be a shame if it was contagious and now they were getting silly.

Even before Kompany, Wilder always quoted BFC as the model he would like his club to follow
Unlike a number of managers, he has actually played the game to a decent level and therefore appreciates the efforts required
He knows what he is talking about and whilst, deep down, knowing he was outwitted on Boxing Day, he doesn't want to throw his team under a bus by admitting they were second best
Let's face it, Kompany was trying to put out the same messages last season

I think their only real big chance of the game came from the left, which was miscontrolled and Trafford dived down to collect it. Hamer had a long range shot. And there was a bit of a random deflection on one of their corners (think it was a corner). And the punch from Trafford.

That's about it though.

We really should have made it 3-0 with Anthony outpacing their defenders through on goal. Good save from the keeper to keep it at 2.

Definitely not on the wind up. He was talking to a young lad, probably his son. I was with my lad and we both heard him. Couldn’t believe it and tried to think of what chances they had

Even though sheff united edged the first half, I thought we actually looked the more dangerous, so how anyone can say they should of been 4 up at half time is crazy

Yes I remember that now. I knew he was rumoured to be one of the three but I’d never seen it confirmed.

When Blades lost to Leeds earlier in season, Wilder was very honest and said they were nowhere near DL on the night. An honest and fair assessment. Why he couldn’t say the same yesterday is baffling. To say there was nothing in it is a slur to Burnley. We were by far the better team over 90 mins and fully deserved to win. Sore loser, who doesn’t want to admit to his own fans that they’re not in the 2 best teams in this league.

I'm not sure why Burnley fans are getting so upset by his comments, there wasn't much in the game they had more possession, more attempts and thought they were the better team first half.
We defended well throughout and took our chances at bad times for them like he said.
If Sheff Utd went 1 up in the first half I don't think we'd have got back in to it but that isn't taking away from the performance it was perfect away performance.
Not a massive fan of Wilder but he's doing a brilliant job down there and the majority of his comments were correct, it's the way he says it that makes him sound sour
