Very much off the wall but absolutely relevant - Bill Nelson's tribute to Stuart Adamson:

Lucky enough to see Big Country with Stuart Adamson at Manchester Apollo in 1983….absolutely brilliant guitarist and singer and tragic that he felt he couldn’t feel or see the love that 1000’s and possibly millions of fans had for him

I first saw Stuart playing with 'The Skids'. This song had definite overtones of what was to come with Big Country:

A big fan of Bill and Stuart. I happened to be at Metropolis that evening - a great gig!

A life time ago, but fortunate to see The Skids at KGH Blackburn 1979 and still have the tickets stub! Adamson such a huge talent and lost so early in life..

One of the very best live bands i have seen. Stuart Adamson was a great front man, guitarist and human being, evident by the love still shown for him 23 years after his sad passing. The Crossing is one of my all time favourite albums.

I saw BC earlier this year with original members Bruce Watson and Mark Brzezicki still with the band. Obviously not the same without Stuart up front but all the same it was great to hear the BC sound being kept alive. Mark did a small speech at the end, finishing it in memory of those not with us tonight. God bless you Stuart Adamson.

Loved both The Skids and Big Country, and I saw the latter at Wembley Stadium in 1984.

Much more recently, and I have taken a liking to Dean Owens / Dean Owens and The Sinners.

Saw him in Edinburgh with a support act who was also his backing vocalist.

She said between songs that she never really knew her father, but later got to know him through the lyrics of his songs before saying, "And this song includes the lyric 'from Dunfermline to Nashville'".

I literally went cold as I realised she was Stuart Adamson's daughter. Two of her friends sat across from me confirmed my theory when I told my mate.

Kirsten Adamson.

She too is superbly talented.

Saw them live nearly 40 years ago now at Cardiff Arns Park when they were supporting Bowie on his Glass Spider tour.
Great live band.
