Missed opportunity

Missed some decent chances and with Boro missing players that felt a real missed opportunity. Still, a good point considering how much effort they've put in recently, they looked knackered. Stoke will need freshening up a bit I think. CJ was top drawer again

That's the 3rd time this season where we have played last and had a chance to go above someone and fluffed it which is a bit annoying (especially as ee have done well a couple of times matching other's when playing last
- which arguably is more pressure).
Tbf I thought we were a bit unlucky and Boro put plenty behind the ball (they did at the Turf too once they went in front). They are a decent side though and I am surprised they aren't closer to us

We looked knackered in second half. Needed Josh to take one of his big chances to give us a lift

We are still lacking enough of a threat up front

We have taken 7 out of 9 from Norwich, Sheff Utd and Boro away…. Thats a great points haul and though it doesn’t really matter it’s more than Vk managed.
Take the positives

It is what could very well be the difference between us and an automatic spot. We create little and when we do we lack the composure to get over the line. The number of 0-0 draws this season shows that.

They were still dangerous, but yes we still need a striker

What VK achieved is of no significance at all. I think whenever we keep a clean slate and don't come away with 3 points it's seen as a 'missed opportunity'. Most definetly require reinforcements, especially up front. Just feel that one or two players on the bench were making up the numbers and that should definitely not be the case.

Boro are a decent side, so not a missed opportunity at all.
Good away performance and a point gained.

It wasn’t our best performance, but we’ve arguably had the most difficult Christmas fixtures of any of the top 6 and to take 4 points isn’t at all bad.
The key is to ensure we don’t drop any points against Stoke.

Leeds had two away games - 6 points
We've had two away games - 4 points
Sheff Utd had two home games - 1 point
Wilder is back to complaining again about everything which is a good sign for us imho
Sort the top end out in January and we stand a good chance.

Aye, but we played two sides in the top 6, whilst Leeds played two teams in the bottom half.
In fact by Saturday night we’ll have played all of the current top 6 away from home and 9 of the current top half. Despite the relative difficulty of our away fixtures, we boast the best away record in the division. It bodes well for the rest of the season.

Just listened to Wilder interview he was talking nonesense and moaning
His team are all ill short of numbers etc
Said if Parker thinks he has a young team ours must be under tens!
He's beginning to lose it which is a good sign

Because they somehow managed to concede three goals each against Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday in their last two games. In addition they've conceded 31 goals which is poor by any standard.
When you consider we were in our best form then I can't see this result as anything other then a bit disappointing in those circumstances.
I know football doesn't work like and one point at The Riverside is good in the great scheme of things but in effect we've done no better then Plymouth or Wednesday.

If we’re in the top 2 or within touching distance of it at the end of January, you’d have to fancy our chances to go up automatically. We’ll have played Leeds, Sunderland, Blackburn and Boro twice by then.
I suspect our run in is one of the easier ones in the division (if ease can be measured by league positions).
Leeds have had a relatively easy run of fixtures lately, but hit a tough patch from late Jan. They play us, Coventry, Sunderland, Watford, West Brom, Watford and Sheffield United between 27 Jan and 1 March.

Thought like on Boxing Day we were far better than the opposition. A couple of attacking players and we should absolutely walk this league.

Not sure Wilder has the motivational ability to get the best out of his team. Some signs he is feeling the pressure. Also think his team lacks discipline and suspensions might start to add to his injuries

We won’t win every game, a well earned point for me rather than a missed opportunity. Tough league this championship, not much rest before we go again and again.

4 points away at top of the league and play off contenders that score for fun
I'd have taken that all day long
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the Riverside and the lads gave everything which is all you can ask for

10 points from Norwich (A) Watford (H) Sheffield United (A) Boro (A) is an excellent return.

He might think the new owners feel the need for a new manager, as well as new players. Every poor result is going to increase the pressure. He talks the talk, but doesn't come across as though he believes what he's saying. That isn't a good look for the fans, players or owners.

If any of the other teams did that we’d be having comments like “bottling in it”.
We settled for a point which is 2 dropped.

As one who does not expect 3 points every match or pays too much attention to other rivals results , I am perfectly happy with yesterday's result against a tough opponent.
Further, there was only one team out of the two that had clear cut chances to win. That was us!

The opportunity is an ongoing thing, not defined by any single result.

You can't win every game and since our 'difficult run' started in earnest away at Norwich, we have 10 points from 12. That's a good haul, particularly in the context of a performance last night that was good and saw us create the best chances on the night. It wasn't perfect, we lacked an ability to play over the press at times, but it was more than acceptable and in context a point gained. 23 games to go and we're on a really good position.

Think the direction we're going, as a team is pretty good, when I'm only slightly disappointed we didnt win up at Boro, instead of feeling really satisfied with the point which l would have been a few weeks ago.

We’ve taken 17 points off the top half of the league away from home ,what’s there to moan about?
