Games in doubt??

Is the game tomorrow in doubt due to this weather?
Now up to amber rain warnings in the morning, roads flooded everywhere even if the pitch is ok would it be called off due to dangerous travelling for players/fans??

Also been speaking to a Blackburn colleague and he seems to think if the weather goes as predicted that the game Saturday will be a serious doubt as the river behind Ewood cannot take the rain currently. A few days of heavy rain then snow will make Ewood unplayable these days he says

This was a boring thread the first time round. Wrap up if you're in the JHL or JML.

Having just listened to the 0048 shipping forecast unless we are playing in Fitzroy the games will be on.

Likely to be some heavy rain through the night and into the morning.

As mentioned before, the drainage and pitch composition will deal with it. Although, in a recent game there was some water build up near the Management / Official areas.

The main issue is trying to get there without public transport. I have managed to book a cab but two other firms had nothing between 11 & 2.30.

Hard to believe how fast the pitch drains since we improved it after the first PL spell. 20 years ago today would have been off, now we regularly water it while it drizzles

Imagine Saturdays game gets called off and we get the chance to go later in the season again to win the league or promotion at their dump, and with more fans than last time…. Oh that would be wonderful……

Not sure we are that lucky though.

As I am on my way down from Stirling, it had better be on!

Odd bits of local flooding, I've had to change my route.

Bear in mind today’s amber weather warnings are issued for a few downpours, high winds and maybe some snow. The same weather merited barely a mention 20 years ago….

Nonsense.

Why do people start these ridiculous threads?
Have they any idea how offputting they can be for some people?

Its just stupid!

That’s the society we have become - constantly having drama rammed down our throats when there clearly isn’t any. It catches on and becomes normal.

Perhaps the alternative would just to not be upset that one person has asked if the game is in doubt? Bizarre overreaction on here

Alternative to what? Can’t see anyone upset. People calmly and reasonably pointing out the game isn’t in doubt, and nor should it be.

Enjoy the game.

Met Office weather warning just issued for heavy snow Saturday and Sunday.
Dolloper's game also at risk. 😆

I dont think either of the games are in doubt
Location specific weather forecasts look more than good enough for a game of football

Wigan's pitch is fine ... there are flooded roads on the approach, and with " Local emergency services being at full stretch dealing with a number of major incidents, they are unable to provide resources to support the match-day operation "

It isn't the pitch I'm questioning, it's the safety of travelling fans.
The Merseyside derby got called off for fan safety not due to the pitch conditions, lots of road closures and flooded roads locally last night

It's off putting? If I didn't live local I'd like to be informed what I'm travelling in too, the roads locally have been flooded or closed. Every chance the game was in doubt due to surrounding area if it had kept up.
Cheers for your pointless input though

Cool? I wasn’t replying to your OP, just the comment about watering.
