Huge Police operation tomorrow

by Andreshotboots
A good friend of mine works for the Police as a controller on march days and other big events .

He basically helps coordinate units etc to incidents via the CCTV and other assets. He was telling me there are over 650 officers on duty tomorrow, unmarked units, as well as dog teams, horses, drone teams and air support.

Please please fellow Clarets don't do anything stupid. We all want to win and stuff their cup final down their throats,we all want to support the lads tomorrow with as much passion as our lungs will allow, but don't do anything you'll regret. It's really not worth potentially changing your life for a moment of madness as it's virtually impossible you won't be seen.. UTC..

Could be worth sharing on Facebook and/or X if you haven't already? Trying to think of where best to share this with the characters most likely to find themselves in trouble with the police on match days, without you spending the majority of this evening and tomorrow morning under the culvert :)

To be honest the ones most likely to cause trouble will be so smacked of their t*** they won't be bothered :D

I suppose the opposite to that playing Devil's advocate is if by deploying all these resources across the County, and they prevent potential criminal damage, people being houses in cells, prison places and costly trials they'll be saving public money rather than allowing it to happen?

In most cases I would probably say that you are correct but this is different. They will have a full house plus there will be loads of their hooligan idiots around town without tickets drinking in the local pubs etc.

I am going on a coach tomorrow but it looks as though a lot of Burnley fans are making their own way to the ground. You can guarantee there will be a small percentage of our fans will be looking for trouble. My worry is that genuine supporters who want to make their way peacefully to and from the ground, if spotted by the local Blackburn idiots could be abused and attacked.

Their hatred towards us intensifies the longer the unbeaten run continues whereas our feelings towards them dissipate a little every time we remain unbeaten.

What does your friend do then for the other 11 months of the year. :)

He works on a lot of Lancashire based club teams, so has always a match on Tuesday/ Wednesday/ Saturday/ Sunday whenever they all play now, don't forget when we're away, PNE or the fiddler's are usually at home.

He also does a load of other stuff that he won't tell me about, assume it's serious crime surveillance and stuff like that..

Just keep it real - no matter how much you get wound up. Cameras everywhere and the Police will track you down through newspaper websites etc.
Not worth risking a lifetime ban.
Hope we can keep our record intact, if not, we’ll just have to lick our wounds and beat them next time.

I would suggest all Burnley fans going tomorrow are genuine supporters. They needed 2000 points which is 6 STs worth, without causing any bother.

Football thrives off rivalries and it generates some great (and sometimes really funny) banter. Why it needs to tip over into all the other nonsense that goes with it, I don’t know.

They’re no different from the kids / scallies / youths involved in post code violence, that blights some inner-city communities.

A game where Police will be deployed 'en masse' in areas where disorder is unlikely (next to the ground).

Shortly following the Home encounter earlier this season, there were a large number of Rozzers awaiting the opening of the Turkish Kebab place.

Hoards of rival hooligans attempt to break through Police defences prior to the match at the Turf.

I detested all this kerfuffle the first time we had to do the 'bubble' and I've never been to ewood since that game.
Unfortunately the minority of trouble makers will be out and about somewhere if not at the game itself.

I thought the clubs had to pay a chunk of the police budget for match days? Or is this just inside the ground?

Nowt will happen from our side, as said it’s all going to be ST holders and regular away fans with thousands of points who’ve got this far without getting in trouble.

There’ll be loads of halfwits out from Blackburn though. Big day out for them and will attract all the idiots. To be fair, that was exactly like us about 20 years ago and will be again one day. Everything goes full circle if you wait around long enough.

No...they'll be reporting in at the Police Stations in Burnley and Blackburn.

The days of the Suicide squad are long gone, apart from a few gobby young lads who would run a mile if anything actually kicked off. Any trouble is more likely to be caused by that lot now.

They certainly had a large "mob" outside the vault bar in Darwen after the game at the Turf who apparently all made their way by train to Burnley.

I would almost guarantee that all that lot weren't season ticket holders, or had enough points to get tickets in our away end legitimately so there's always ways and means for people who want to cause bother...

You must be mistaken, rovers fan in peace says all the little rascals will be reporting to the local nick.

All Clubs have their idiots but thankfully the Police are on top these days.

Stone Island clad 16 year olds putting a show on behind a row of bemused Police.

There will be no major Bother/Arrests tomorrow, same as its been for the last 10 years +.

The hype around our derby does not help.

I never thought any different simply for the reason I just couldn't see venkys caring enough or turning down the extra gate receipts.
