"When they had the corner flag it was like losing the colours at Isandlwana."

Yeah, well, let's just say you were happy lording it and giving it large for years. Now you know what it feels like.

This was just brilliant! Great to see what it mean to the players and the “ corner flag incident “ was like a Roman legion losing its eagle , great stuff

Since 2014, Burnley have won every game against Blackburn when Ashley Barnes has been at the club.

The only time they failed to beat Blackburn in this period was when he played for Norwich.

And people say we shouldn’t have brought him back? 😍🔥

Given his lack of involvement on the pitch today, I genuinely do wonder if it was a mind games thing signing him just before the game. He really gets into their heads.

Master stroke if that’s the case.

Full credit to Vegas for putting that photo up. A true gem.

I will shortly be contacting the state of Nevada to see who I contact for "freedom of the city" recommendations.

Chris Sutton was properly rattled by the celebrations. Claiming we were over celebrating since we haven't won anything yet

I’ve just read that on brfcs.

If you have the time, crack a beer open, grab a bag of peanuts and get on over to brfcs. It really is tremendous reading.

We’re all c*unts, a despicable club, vile, you name it. And they are frothing at the mouth over our players grabbing their corner flag at the end.

They seem to think that if they had their full team out, they’d have smashed us.

When we played Norwich there was a point when SP put his arm round Ash's shoulder and had a chat ... some on here were wondering at the time ... perhaps the seeds were sewn by Ash or SP then for this. Also Ash said in his interview about how he was ready to put his arm around the shoulders of younger players (much as he did with Manuel and Anass in the promo season) and give them some pep talks.

Thats what we lost last season when VK decimated our promotion team.

Tony wrote this last night:

"Tom Heaton once told me that if there was anything going on in the dressing room, then rest assured that Ashley Barnes would be behind it, often ably assisted by his partner in crime Ashley Westwood."

I wonder whether it was Westwood or Barnes who came up with the horsehead and corner flag...

Former ******* boss and dirty footballer, Graeme Souness, spent a while as manager of Galatasaray in Turkey. After a victory in the cup final against Fenerbahce, the main local rivals, he proceeded to plant a club flag on the halfway line which sparked widespread disorder.

I don't think that he takes vacations in Istanbul nowadays.

I'm unsure as to the remit of the authorities in this situation.

I doubt that the match officials have any responsibilities after a number of minutes following the final whistle.

It would then boil down to the stewards and Police to manage the situation.

Their only recourse would be to arrest the person in question and charge with theft, criminal damage, Inciting a Riot or any of a plethora of offences under the Public Order Act.

In fairness ever since the venkys took over blackburn things have gone downhill thereon for them & we've had the upper hand with PL promotion. We are just a better side than them & that's not taking away ABs obvious goal contributions when he pushed their keeper into the net. You can attribute that to 1 person or the above logic.

That corner flag photo will be the photo of the season. It reminds me of the US marines raising the Stars and Stripes on Iwo Jima in WW2.

No theft, no criminal damage and probably nothing under public order, that would secure a conviction, so all good.
No incitement to riot either.

It’s now 11 league and cup matches since they last beat us which is the same number of matches their 34 year streak consisted of (depending on whether or not you count the Anglo Scottish Cup match from 79/80).

Did you see their celebrations to gaining a draw at the Turf or do you not attend games?

Eustace was going and at the Turf in front of their fans and all the players. They deserve everything they get thrown back at them for how they acted for years.

Every win against them is great. This one was especially fun as they really thought it was their moment. Proper cup final for them, all came crawling out the woodwork. Reopened their stands and everything. We've beaten them loads recently, but they'd learned to almost expect it. This one has however definitely floored them, some lovely crying and bitterness.

And that corner flag photo is destined to become iconic.

The match officials are in charge of all football related matters from arriving at the ground until leaving.
