According to the lad (Rovers fan in the pub) I chatted with on Friday night he wants rid of Eustace, even though he thinks Eustace has them punching way above their ability....

It won't be long before Eustace leaves that lot. It might not be to West Brom, but this Jan window is vital as to what he does. If Venky's mess him about, as they have done with numerous mangers, Eustace will very likely be getting himself out of there. Possibly in the summer.

Unknown to most, but Eustace twice offered his resignation this summer gone, after the hierarchy reneged on a promise to give him £5m to spend. They just about reached a compromise with the signings of Ohashi, Gueye etc and by allowing Cantwell to be signed. He's hanging on for now, but it's no coincidence his name appears in the frame for any Championship vacancy lately.

Friends with Blackburn connections. It sounds like it is just as much as a circus as it ever was over there. Venky's have a court hearing in India this month, due to which they are choosing not to send transfer funds across as it will cost them double to do so. As I mentioned in the other thread. A disgrace is what they are as owners and an absolute joke in the football world.

I'm an honest guy, so I'll be honest.
I think you're a rovers fan, and that's fine no dramas. The timing of your arrival and your heavy knowledge of rovers suggests you have a strong connection with them.

I'll also be honest and say they would be loving it if it was us in such a mess, so likewise I don't really care what happens with them. I don't want them to go bankrupt, but administration and 10 years between League 1 and 2 would be quite pleasurable. Remember, you had that on us.

Hutch, you should be as proud of your owners, as I am. Maybe your looking for sympathetic support from people on this board, with a view to abandoning Rovers and jumping ship. To follow a mightier Club nearby, who your lot can’t beat.

I admire your warmed hearted spirit and generosity mybloodisclaret. It’s warming that in this cruel cold cynical world that we live in to see people with hearts as big as yours.

Unfortunately I have a heart of stone and I have fingers crossed for full on bankruptcy and having to fold and start again at the bottom of the pyramid and their local derby being against Darwen.

The Venkys have kept the good ship "Fiddlers FC" funded for many years now...

Lets face facts, the ones you should be blaming are "The Walker Trust" they sold you out for personal gain.

We don't care about your diabolical fans and club ... I remember Turf Moor having loads of them there in 87 dying to say they were there when Burnley went out of the football league ... So thats why I don't give a **** about the Fiddlers and their current owners.

Nobody should have a problem with Rovers fans coming on here and adding to debates.
As long as they're not abusive or claim their 95 trophy was recent.

Agree. There's some clarets over on the BRFC forums. Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy debate.

It makes me cringe too. I think that a few ******* fans should be allowed on here without the need to go undercover as it would be funny to see them rinsed.

The court case that was scheduled for the end of August ( transfer window) postponed till the end of January ( transfer
window ) ... I would say the Indian Government and The Venky's are working hand in hand , no more funding allowed
hopefully , The Venky's will appeal, to show that they appear to care and drag it on a bit longer ... Then walk away
free of blame but as they own Brockhall they need to recoup a chunk of their money ...
Singing Champions of England You will never sing that when they are playing West Didsbury & Chorlton would be sweet !!

I'm presuming the end game for the Venkys is to get promoted then sell.
It's a big ask, but they must have allocated a time span & a budget before they bail out altogether.

I knew of a lad called Hutchy who went to St Christopher's in the 90s. Who knows, might be the same lad. Was a decent footballer from what I remember. Was definitely a Rovers fan.

When I first started watching Burnley in the late 80s. Nobody really spoke about winning the league 28 years ago, certainly not as a good thing or recent.

Some were embarrassed it was so long ago. Most just thought it was another era.

They harp on like it was last week.

It is even weirder when it is people who weren't even born at the time going on about it like it was the best day of their life. I am surprised they don't talk about the memories they have from beating Old Etonians in a cup final, it's about on a par with Burnley winning the Keighley cup.

What’s funny is that people seem to think Burnley fans are somehow different. We’re not. We’re all as ignorant and tribal as the next lot of fans.

Walking off on Saturday and there was a young Blackburn fan mouthing off about winning the title. He looked about 18. I said to my mates “ he won’t even remember ever beating us, never mind winning the title.”

Yes, regarding Blackburn, it's probably the case, but seeing I was brought up in Skipton so never heard anything about Blackburn, and have lived away from the north for so long now, I'm even more out of touch with Blackburn, so I've never heard their gloating. No bad thing, eh.

That’s the weird thing about it, how they’re frozen in time watching that grainy footage of them gloriously losing at Anfield on VHS.

I also started in the late 80s, our title success more recent than theirs is now, and like you, I never heard a word about it. It may as well have belonged to Roman history. I guess part of the reason is we’d already been on quite the journey since then.

Whereas they’ve been very slowly declining and stagnating ever since, as they’ve finally morphed into PNE. Watching our resurgence and then dominance has only made them cling harder to a past half of them never even saw.
