Saw this post on a football site showing Bradford City with Billy Ingham on it and ask Phil Cavener about kicking the corner flag.

Good guy is hot tub Phil. He is vice chairman at Arlesey Town FC. Going to try and get to a game there and meet up with him - I used to live in Arlesey early 2000s more or less across from the football club. I remember when i first engaged with him on social media, must be 15 or so years ago and mentioned where I lived and said I doubt you have heard of it, it's only a small place. Then he sent me footage from the 1995 FA Vase final at Wembley, Phil was Manager of Arlesey Town who beat Oxford City in the final at Wembley.

Always liked Phil Cavener. A regular in 80/81 but featured much less in 81/82.

Wasn’t Phil at one time, the chairman of Bedford Town?.

I think Phil (Cav) used to live in digs up Cambridge Drive area of Padiham with another geordie lad we called Youngy. They both occasionally, alongside a very young Andy Payton, used to play football with us local kids on the field that was to the left of the old railway line going from Padiham power station.

It was Cambridge Close they lived on,just off Cambridge Drive. We used to play on the fields which is now Printers Fold Estate and I remember Youngy taking a penalty against me on there where he hit it as hard as he could straight at me,ouch,I was about 10 at the time

He was co-owner, put money into the club to buy shares which didn't exist! I don't know the details but it ended in legal action which I am fairly sure that Phil won.

Kevin Young played in the famous 4-1 League Cup QF win at Spurs. He tried to chip Ray Clemence from about 40 yards out.

I once had a night out at Angels in Burnley and was with some of the BFC lads. Kevin Young was 110% focused on his career and appeared totally devoted to Burnley. The others (Paul Dixon, Peter Robinson and possibly Billy Hamilton) were more intent on enjoying their night out but Youngy just wanted to talk about football and Burnley.
