His stock has plummeted in a pretty unprecedented fashion.

There was a point less than 12 months ago that he was seen as a rising star of coaching.

I wonder how he missed out on a job at one of the biggest clubs in Europe over the summer?

Got the best out of a limited squad in one of those once-in-a-lifetime seasons. It will be interesting to see if he can repeat it elsewhere or if his career path goes the same way as a certain Owen Coyle.

They've won 10 and lost 25 league games since start of 2024.

I have to confess that I held Edwards quite highly as a manager. If I take away my support of our own team, I felt he did the best job with the 3 promoted sides to the PL. He ended up with more points than us and Sheff Utd, and probably spent the least money of the three. Neutral fans and pundits will also say they made the best fist of the promoted sides and took some of the best team to the wire. But it just goes to show how certain managers can go through such a U turn. Bit like Gary O Neil when he took over at Wolves, bit look Wider in his first season at Sheff Utd,a bit like Bendan Rogers at Leicster, Postecoglu at Spurs. You could name hundreds of these managers. What really surprises me is the length of contract some of them are offered. I am sure Edwards will find himself a new managers role , but I am not so sure a new manager will make Luton a major force in the Championship again

Dyche won’t take a job outside of the Premier League.

He did a marvellous job gaining promotion with Luton. His team outperformed ours over a season with a much inferior squad of players. He dealt with the awful Tom Locyker incident with a lot of class and always came across as a genuinely good bloke. I can see why he was praised by some of our fans.

He did a great job at Luton. The truth is they probably over achieved and went up too soon. A couple of years consolidating in the Championship and they could have done more.
I hope, and doubt, he'll be out of work for long.

Rob Edwards seemed to have run out of ideas at Luton, and they've had a massive Premier League hangover. They quite literally put everything into it last year.

It shows just what a good job SP is doing here, considering the turmoil we were in after that relegation (and Wilder tbf to him). I fully expected Luton to be competing for promotion once again this year.

After Everton, the next job will be an allerdyce job of taking over a sacked prem manger in the hope he can keep them up

Nope. I read that Talksport had it running earlier but they have since deleted everything about it.

He did well to get that Luton team up and battling in the Premier League. Has something about him and I think he’ll still do well somewhere else.

A thoroughly likeable bloke he'll get another opportunity on character alone. Did well initially with luton that should stand him in good stead somewhere else that he can work a similar type of magic.

He seems to move on to other jobs pretty quickly. Luton must be his longest one.

I'm not sure he's that good. Did well at Forest Green and got them promoted to League One but after only one year left to go to Watford (a basket case of course) where he was sacked after a few months.

He was good at Forest Green Rovers though I think there was sone bad blood when he left for Watford. Naturally he didn't last long because, well, Watford. At Luton he was very good but when they lost Lokonga and Barkley it was going to be tough.

He's still got plenty of credit in the bank I think. When we played them at the start of the season they had a much weaker team (they had a kid playing at the back due to injuries).

I bet he wishes he'd have taken one of those jobs last season that he was allegedly beating off with a sh!tty stick.

Chance you take & there’s no guarantee the others would have offered the same longevity.
