FA Cup 3rd Round 24/25

Kicks off tonight (Thurs) unusually. Some potentially amazing albeit slim giant killings on offer in this round, including two of our Lancashire brothers in Morecambe and Accrington Stanley.
Standouts for me are
9/1
7.45pm
Everton vs Posh
(would LOVE an Everton defeat, though sadly would probably be the nail in the coffin for Dyche which wouldn't be nice to see)
11/1
12.15pm
Liverpool vs Accrington Stanley
Amazing day out for them and great money maker.
3.00pm
Chelsea vs Morecambe
23rd in League 2 so absolutely would be one of the biggest shocks in years should they nick a win.
3.00pm
Reading vs Burnley
Nuff said.
5.45pm
Leeds vs Harrogate Town
Slightly above Morecambe in the league but not by much, will hopefully make a great Yorkshire derby.
12/1
3.00pm
Arse-moan vs Man-ure
Granted probably be U21 squads for both teams but hopefully be somewhat of an entertaining spectacle.
No teatime Sunday game, which is a shame as that would have been good for Liv V Stanley being a short distance away (and move Che vs Mor to 12.15pm Sat)

Your right, I missed that, albeit in comparison to some of the other games it seems like a damp squib.
Also
13/1
7.30
Milwall vs Dagenham & Redbridge
Mini London derby with non league team. Should be interesting affair!

Wonder what you'd get on an Accy/Morecambe double?

Might as well go the full monty and stick Salford to win at Man City, probably make it about 45000/1

Tamworth v Tottenham
Newcastle v Bromley
Both on Sunday. Can't remember a 3rd round with as many potential giant killings.

Team who I think could progress against higher opposition
Wycombe to beat Portsmouth
Bristol City to beat Wolves
Exeter to beat Oxford
Orient to beat Derby
Swansea to beat Southampton
Any 4 all 5 @ £2.5 a line
All 5 win = £1536.78

Sorry but do the matches end on pens if necessary? No replays?

Yes no replays due to certain clubs needing to save their energy for end of season / pre season tours of the far east

Nice to see so many lower league teams getting a day out at a PL club. Any draw or better for them there would be absolutely enormous.
Tamworth a really interesting fixture as you a) don't know which Spurs will turn up and b) how the Spurs players will react to the pitch.
Genuinely really looking forward to this weekends games. Even more so now that haven't drawn away at City

Tell that to the Accy Stanley fans.
Not sure how many fans they are taking there but the club has sold 20 coaches for them to travel.

Goodison Park sounds dead, no atmosphere at all. If the Everton fans wanted SD out you'd have thought they would be roaring their team on tonight.

Shows how exciting the game is when all the commentators can talk about is the fact that Ashley Young and his son are on the apposing benches.

I wasn’t expecting that to come on. Steve Cotterill was not happy at the lack of respect shown to our club from Benitez that night.

Bramhall Lane looks like a game played behind closed doors. So much for the magic of the FA cup!

Was that because of the Liverpool line-up or something else?
On a separate note, it's actually the first time I'd seen the red card back. Grant made a right meal of it, but it's still a clear red!

7pm kick off on a Thursday night (is it for the benefit of the fans or for TV)?

Not his team but the way he spoke after the game to people. He angered a few at Burnley that night.

Nothing is for the benefit of the fans now. Peterborough actually lodged a complaint at having to play on the Thursday.
The turnout at Bramall Lane is really poor with hardly any Cardiff fans there.

Serves him right. if Benitez had respected the competition in the first place and not played his reserves, then I dare say they'd have won.

It was nothing to do with his team selection but about his behaviour towards our club.
