Just watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it. The real winner is Burnley the town….looks great and the people are again portrayed as friendly, hard working people.
Blackburn FC fans are going to hate it!

Haven't seen it but I do believe they used The Talbot, as opposed to the Duck and Drake as in the first film.
Good pub, but just happens to be in Leeds.

Certainly would - but won't provide the wheelbarrows of cash you get from a betting company.

Thought first half hour was very good and quite hard hitting. 2nd half seemed to have much more dramatic licence, scenes in America more unbelievable. Overall an enjoyable watch.

Excellent publicity for the town but a terrible film let’s have it right

Was only ever going to show the town and its people favourably. Dave Fishwick himself is a champion of the area.
I’ll try to catch it this next week.

Watched it this evening with my family. Maybe not quite as good as the first but still a good watch and makes you smile at the end. I had dismissed the rumour that Def Leppard was down at Dave's local singing Karaoke, wish I had taken it seriously now, I would have gone down. Perhaps Tella was at Gawthorpe yesterday after all

It’s not a terrible film, Barry Norman.
It’s a feel good, entertaining film and shows Burnley in a good light.
What is your idea of a good film?

It’s an ok film, probably wouldn’t be interested if it wasn’t for the Burnley link. Nice to see Jordan Beyer’s goal against Coventry.

Only issue with it was it showing that game from the 22/23 season was it showing supporters wearing shirts from the 23/24 season just before it

Enjoyed both films, first better than this one but a nice easy watch that does nothing but good for the town
And as for the man himself, a local bloke made good who proves that even with massive wealth you can still be a decent human being

Plus of course the film is set in c2014! Like most of the film, it’s fiction, but enjoyable enough and might help our owners garner a few more fans stateside.

The Pub scenes were filmed at the Talbot, the pub Dave used to go for a pie and a pint at lunch time for Burnley College (along with many other students (and staff) .

Watched it last night and enjoyed it for what it is. A feelgood movie which portrays Burnley and the surrounding area in a very positive light, together with showing what a decent bloke Dave is. If you want to watch it to analyse it as a masterpiece of all time films then you're probably best giving it a miss. If you want an hour and half of light, enjoyable entertainment then give it a go

There were some rumours many months ago that the Talbot was being used surreptitiously despite it being closed. Possibly it was the film crew and actors in there.

Much better to see the town portrayed like it has in the two films rather than the outside public perception of 20 odd years ago. Hopefully the Barry Norman’s on here can see that!

I really wanted to like it. It was just okay.
Irritating thing is, they didn’t find Burnley run down enough to use it for a lot of the external shots and chose to use somewhere else (Rochdale?) to make it look even worse!

Will do the same for this one.
Never going g to be Oscar material. That is not the point.
Dave Fishwick is an exceptional person and loves his home town.

I think some of the media studies graduates on here are missing the main point about exposing the evil companies that have destroyed peoples lives with their loans. If films like this raise awareness to make sure these companies never resurface then that will do.

It’s a harmless feel good thing ( again) Rory K is excellent as the world’s most humble if garrulous affable guy ,and Dave Fishwick must be drooling at his fictional portrayal. It plays out like a midweek one off drama imo, mildly entertaining, cliched , and subtle as a Ray Deakin clearance , there’s even a baddie in it ,but how this could appeal to Americans ??
A solid 6/10

Dave plays three parts in it. He plays one of the American Italian baddies but said he was so well done up he looks totally different. He had to have lessons to sound like an American. I don't know which other two parts he has as he left people to guess. It's also being made into a musical. He has insisted it opens in the north but won't say where. Starts in summer this year I think. Jason Manford is playing Dave.

Just watched it and would recommend you do if you’ve not already.
Honest view is that the first was better and I think that was because the supporting cast were better actors, particularly the Lawyer and niece in the last one; their equivalents in this were weaker in my opinion.
I also think they could portray Burnley a bit better. There are so many beautiful places like all our parks and reservoirs they could feature and don’t, and I was surprised how similar the story lines were.
But those minor points aside I thought it was brilliant. Not to be taken seriously overall but also highlighted an important topic and just a good heartwarming film that highlights what’s best about our community - the people.
A solid 7/10.

In the scene at the Turf Dave Fishwick is one of the fans in the crowd. Good shot of him when we score.
He’s also in the crowd in the final pub scene when Def leopard are on the stage.
