Reading v Burnley FA cup 3rd round match report

A much changed Burnley dominated the first half and really could have been 3 or 4 up and Button in the Reading goal made some smart saves. Reading came out after half time with more intent and produced some decent attempts from Tyler Binden . Lyle Foster was seeing a lot of the ball and missed a couple of good opportunities to open the scoring which he did at the 2nd attenpt The equaliser came out of the blue with a speculative 35 yrd effort from Reading skipper Wing that seemed to catch out Hladky who made a complete mess of it 1-1.Into extra time and Zian Flemming on scored from close range after a rare cameo and cross from Magic Mike Tressor.Reading seemed deflated at this point and when Flemming scooped in a third while lying down with his first effort blocked, the contest was well and truly over .Tressor did provide the assist but looked totally disinterested for the rest of the game passing back when played in
A excellent game from Jayrod bossing midfield and our two U21 lads Bauress and McDermott
Overall a professional performance which made a change from Sean Dyches dismal attempt at a cup run .

Not sure Jay Rod bossed anything, and the dig at Dyche was uncalled for on a day we made 11 changes
But well done at having a go

Well done Woodley for the report. Not being at the game it’s always good to read how you saw it.

That should signal the end of the guest reporter experiment.

Thanks Woodley. I always appreciate any travelling fan's report on the game. Very hard to watch, as a fan, keep notes and then report afterwards. Not easy at all. A fair and concise summary of events.

Sometimes,we forget how lucky we are with the quality of report we are treated to each week from CT.

Just another couple of reasons to love this place.

Spot on Jimmy Robbo.
Brave to have a go at a report particularly with consistent and fabulous quality of all Tony’s reports

Am sure Tony will be pleased to have volunteers in the future and again it is as the reporter sees it

So again we’ll done Woolley, I for one enjoyed it

Won as many third round ties as Burnley manager as he lost
