My 2018 discovery sport cut out when driving and wouldn't restart AA recovered to my home address
Can anybody recommend a mobile mechanic who will come out to have a look at it

Google 'mobile mechanic near me' you'd probably get a faster response than waiting on a football forum or was it just to let everyone know you had a land rover discovery?

If you wanted a kebab and googled “kebabs near me” would you go with the result of the nearest one without trying to get some feedback or recommendations beforehand

Is it a 2 litre diesel?
I don’t want to be a scaremonger, but if it is I hope it isn’t the all too common timing chain failure. It ends up being catastrophic.

Mobile Diagnostics Technician.
Tony Dixon 07940 911 858.
I've used him several times and can recommend him.

Probably best getting it trailered to a specialist garage. You can usually find blokes with a flatbed and a winch on Facebook or Gumtree willing to do it for under a ton

Looking ahead,if you haven't had this car long,I'd look to getting rid. Horrendous reliability record and often very poor service from Land Rover.

I wouldn't Google kebabs near me, I know exactly where I'd go.

This 100%.
Had a Freelander for a while, and whilst that wasn't too bad, I've heard loads of stories about LRs bad service and their cars reliability problems.

Well maybe he wants a personal recommendation rather than pot luck. You must be a bit pathetic

Judging by some replies ... others on here know where you should to go too

Everyone speaks very highly of the Land-Rover garage opposite the Barley Mow in Barley. Might at least be worth having a word with them. They may be able to tow it in for you, depending where you are. (This is meant to be a hlpful reply -- don't start the "Barley is full" debate again

)

Freelander is probably the best car they've made to be fair. Having said that, I do like them.

Thanks to everyone who gave helpful replies
I've managed to get it booked into a landrover specialist over Preston way next week
I'm now hoping it's nothing serious
Just to add this is the best car and the worst car I have ever owned in 40 years driving I've never broken down this is the second time in 6 months with the landrover
I've used Emmets of Colne before and they are brilliant it's a 6 week waiting list for them to look at it
Bartrams again brilliant but they couldn't fit me in either

JLR, as a brand, really need to buck up. The new CEO of JLR Europe, said, on taking the job a couple of years ago, that the Company needed to sort out the poor reliability issues that had dogged them for several years. This clearly hasn’t happened, and as someone who works in the motor trade, I would give all of their products a wide berth.
