Atalanta fans in Italy had ‘RIP Daz’ banner which is for a Burnley fan that passed away.
Does anyone know the friendship between Burnley and Atalanta?

A few lads I know in Leeds follow Atlanta and go over to Italy a couple times a season. They went across to Dublin for the Europa League final and got chatting to some Burnley fans who do the same thing. Think one of the lads in the Burnley group was Rusty and think some of the Burnley lads said they were banned from Turf so started following other teams like Atlanta

There are fans of Burnley, who met up with Atalanta fans, I think on holiday. They gave them Bly shirts, which have since been added to and adorn their fans bar and they’ve adopted our team. They’ve been to our games and they all meet up and go together to Atalanta European games in the UK.

Darren Pope was the lad that died. Only 54 and a great bloke and very highly thought of. He a few Burnley lads had been over to Italy a few times and struck up a friendship with some on the main Atalanta fans. A great mark of respect for one of our own and a good mate. RIP Daz x
