Man City - Haaland
Just seen Haaland has signed a new 9 and half year contract with Manchester City. I am sure details of how much he will be paid will soon be revealed.
Nice one for City to get sorted before we find out about their 115 charges.

Re: Man City - Haaland
Contracts aren't there to keep players at clubs. This will allow them to get a bigger fee when he leaves.

Not many strikers who were world class when they were 20 are still world class when they are 34, Jay Rod excepted.
Re: Man City - Haaland
I bet he's insisted on a certain release clause so he can go to Madrid in a few years.

Re: Man City - Haaland
Think the very long length of contract is down to city trying to stay within FFP - just like those long contracts Chelsea have been giving out.
Facilitates amortisation over a longer period.
In terms of ensuring they get a big fee for him I don’t think 9.5 years guarantees you any bigger fee really than a 5 year contract - but I reckon it’s immaterial anyway as they will have put in a release clause like he did with his Dortmund contract.
Rumours are it’s £500k a week !!

Tbh it’s an obscene amount - a quarter of a billion over the rest of his contract….and guess that’s without his bonuses, image rights, sponsorship deals etc

commercial deals for clothing and modelling (maybe skirts if he follows the lead of DCL)
after dinner speaking (perhaps not).

Re: Man City - Haaland
Great if it is. All that tax, making it's way by some shady method from Abu Dhabi, via Man City and Haaland and into UK's coffers.
Not like we're paying it, so all good.

it would suggest they are very confident of beating those chargesPoulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:54 amJust seen Haaland has signed a new 9 and half year contract with Manchester City. I am sure details of how much he will be paid will soon be revealed.

Re: Man City - Haaland
BBC now reporting £500,000 per week , just written numerically to give it its deserved glory.
Re: Man City - Haaland
£500,000 per week, I'd have to work for over 16 years to earn the same amount.
If the figure is true he would earn the same in just under two and a half years, as someone winning tonight's Euro Millions £64 Million Jackpot!

Re: Man City - Haaland
According to the City website it’s a 10 year contract. But all the city fans I know are saying it’s actually in between, 115 months.

Re: Man City - Haaland
I find it interesting to see Haaland is left handed. Considering only 10% of population are left handed but many actors, sports people, politicians, surgeons etc at the VERY top of their profession are left handed. Ya, I know it's useless information but I find it interesting nonetheless.
