Laurent very lucky to keep his place - he was absolutely gash against Sunderland - as were Brownhill and Flemming, but they have credit in the bank from recent good performances.

He doesn’t mind throwing caution to the wind as we look to close gap at top. After all the struggles to create anything, a slightly less reliable left back is the key to change it all.

Flemmings scored some big important goals but not sure his all round performances have been good recently

I’d assume that he’d opt for what he feels will be the greatest chance of getting up to the Premier League. Sitting 12 points above ‘boro and two points off the automatic places, that’s us (of the reported, interested teams).

On that basis, even if ‘boro were offering greater wages now, they wouldn’t match what he would earn as a PL player.

I’m not fussed either way to be honest. I don’t think he’s going to be good enough if we do go up and I don’t think he’s going to be a difference maker this season either.

So if his agent wants to use Boro’s bid to strong arm us into higher wages then he can jog on. His chances of being a Premier League player next year are infinitely better with us.
