Shite, but I watched on telly so can’t rate him.

Should have had two pens minimum.

Refs often get overlooked with a performance and result like that but my god he was poor. It really is a good job we scored as many as we did because if that had been a close game we would be sat here fuming...especially following the clueless Backhouse on Friday night.
3 penalties that I am extremely confident would be given by VAR all waved away. The first and third handballs his hand is high and the shirt pull and twist round on Flemming.
Then he settled in to given them a succession of soft free kicks. On another day we would be raging.

Good of him to decide he had the authority to play less than the required duration.

Can’t rate but he did a poor job of making a ridiculously easy game more problematic. We should have had a least 2 penalties

Got us up to at least 5 bad penalty decisions against us in the last 2 games, so as long as we balance that out against DL that is fine ;)

Only watched on TV so can't score but if there was ever a ref who reff'ed the game based on the dominance of one team then this is it! Just because we were 2/3/4 nil up doesn't mean handball in the box by a defender is no longer a penalty! Decision making was absolutely awful.

Watched on TV and of the 3 possible penalties in first half one was clear , one possible and one not as the pundit said
They all struck a hand but one was about a yard away in a packed penalty area
People rating at the game will have to have amazing eyesight to see all 3 from about 100 yards away and not get several looks close up by different cameras

The pundit in the studio who said not a pen, wasn't he a Plymouth player?

Reflecting on what everyone else said, don't let this douche bag off lightly because of a nice win.

They were pulling Flemming as much as bastardss, we should have had 3 or 4 pens. He was ******* turd but he didn't have a lot to do except the big decisions.

Awful

Another dire referee who made an easy game look difficult. If our penalty against Swansea was given, the first one tonight definitely has to be.

Ducked out of any real decisions. Given how easy Sunderland got two pens for nothing, against us, we should have had 2 or 3.

I am surprised that nobody has mentioned that the ball was still moving when Cullen took the quick free kick, also Roberts pushed their defender so laurant had a free header for the 4th.

Was it though? I thought it was moving up to just the point of him about to connect.

He missed a lot. Quite a few penalties. Connor shoving in build up to the goal may have been VAR in the EPL. Loads of unpleasant snide late challenges on Hannibal late on as well. Would have rated him quite poorly.

We don't appear to be benefiting substantially from these bad refs at the minute. Sheffield United definitely did against Swansea and Sunderland when I watched them. Sunderland have had a run of favourable decisions. At some point, we will start to get some fortunate decisions.

I can't rate not having been there. Two of the three handball shouts in the first half though were clear penalties as was the foul on Flemming in the second half.

Backhouse got big, big decisions wrong at the end of a tight game last Friday, these decisions were just as bad but will be overlooked because we were comfortably in front.

The ball had already gone over the defender’s head before Roberts touched him, it was a free header either way. Even then it was more ‘contact’ than a push. VAR wouldn’t be overturning that.

I'm not convinced. It's possible, but not certain.
Also I don't think Roberts did much. From one angle in particular, it looks like he barely touched him

Still, balance it out and it could have been 8-0 in stead
