Haaland might have scored a lot of goals … but I bet Watford have had more managers

Watford had 27 managers in the first 100 years of their existence.
Martin will be the 23rd manager they’ve had since the Pozzo’s took over in 2012.

I thought Tom Cleverly was doing a reasonable job but then anyone who takes the poisoned chalice that's the Watford job should expect to be binned by the clowns that run the club.
No one gets anytime to build a decent team

Did better than I expected when he moved to Real Madrid.

Anyone who takes the Watford job, does it for the money.
I suppose you could argue that’s the case with many managers, but in Watfords case, they must know they either win every game, or get potted with a huge payout.

Had a good run, over ten months now which is an eternity at Watford.
They never sack a manager until the next one is lined up which looks to be the case here.

I believe "experienced in 12-game stints" is one of the Essential Criteria on the job description.

Here’s an interesting (or not - ymmv) fact.
The original definition of a “factoid” is something that sounds like a fact, but is actually untrue. The etymology is similar to “asteroid”, which appears to be a star (“astra”) but isn’t.
Of course, words change their meaning all the time, and “factoid” now seems to mean any unimportant or trivial fact.
I blame Steve Wright (RIP).

So he's getting fired soon then

I reckon he will sign a new deal this weekend and then be sacked if they lose next weekend
