That’s a really good move, much better than going back to Belgium imo

Hopefully gets a decent run of games without injury then we can determine if he has a future here.

Good move for him and us. Will be interesting to see how he gets on.

A weird purchase. A position we didn't need, and a player where every indication prior to joining was that he wasn't good enough. And then Kompany chucked him in the deep end in the Premier League, often playing him out of position against teams who were perfect to exploit his flaws and lack of top level experience. I'd see his name on the team sheet and think "Vinny, do you actually want this guy to fail?"

I think there's a decent Championship level defender there. Swansea is a good destination to find out and I hope he is a success for them.

One of many bizarre signings tbf. Sambo and Agyei are another 2 who are still on our books.

Agyei was signed for pittance and clearly a punt on one for the future - he's very young

I'm guessing he won't be playing when we go to their place?

Good move for both-hopefully they pick up all is wage. Hes probably been able to talk to Humphreys about being at Swansea, where Bash made a number of appearances. Looking how they played the other night v Sheff Utd he will be a valued player for Swansea

Reminds me of getting beat at home by a nine men Rochdale. They had one of our keepers (David Williams) on loan, and he played a blinder.

You're half right.

David Williams did indeed play against us for Rochdale, but that wasn't the game they finished with nine men.

The nine man Rochdale was a different game to the one when Williams played against us.

From what I saw at Spurs in thr cup he could be a very good centre back. Interested to see how he does.

Cheers for putting me right. I mention it every time people talk about embarrassing defeats.

I thought he had some very good games at LCB last season. He's definitely not a bad player

It was weird that, he'd never really looked convincing at all, then had one outstanding game from nowhere. He was very good in that one.

He played well that game.

It's good that he got a loan at a Championship club. I thought that he was more than half decent once he bedded in last season. Good luck to the lad.

Hadn’t he just recently won his first Belgium cap when we signed him? Think there were plenty of positive indications when we signed him, especially for the reported 1.5 million we paid. He’s just been very unfortunate with injuries

He'd not had much chance in his best position at LCB. He took his opportunity that day in the same way Egan Riley took his this season.
He was just unlucky that we got Esteve for that role so he ended up not getting many more chances

For me his only decent game for us

Seems like a good move for all parties. He's still only 25, so if he does well then we could potentially get a decent fee for him.

Darling has been suspended for his red card against Sheffield United so perhaps Delcroix will be straight in the side to play Norwich (on Sky Sports+ tomorrow lunchtime). Vigouroux will likely also be playing.

Josh Ginnelly on the bench for Swansea too for an extra Claret connection.

Delcroix did all right mostly and not at fault for the first three goals - they were team errors that put him in impossible situations. However the last two goals were down to him, muscled off the ball for the fourth and half asleep for the fifth.

He played as left centre back in a back four but the two full backs were weak. On the ground he was OK but not tested for pace. There wasn't too much aerial goings on but he didn't look convincing when there was.

Have to bear in mind of course that he hasn't played for ages and barely had a day with his team mates.

His performance today reminded me of his showing against Arsenal last season when he put in the most half-arsed challenges you'll see from a centre half. That was another game in which he was part of a defence that shipped 5 goals.

To be fair though, he had 10 teammates who were completely half-arsed that day.

Only seen the goals once, but he looked to be the only defender they had at times. There didn’t even appear to be a left back for two of the goals.

He wasn’t great here by any stretch, but he’s been chucked straight into an out of form side having barely played for 8 months.

If you were to ask a number of our fans to list all our squad players from memory alone, Delcroix would not have made their list. Lets hope he plays well at Swansea and that helps generate a future fee. One of an influx of players who contributed very little and never good enough for the PL, which is why VK brought him in. Time at Swansea will tell if he is good enough for the Championship.

Looked like a stranger out there, understandably. Swansea fullbacks were poor.
