PANTOMIME SEASON FOR ENGLISH CRICKET

After watching the performances of England Women in Australia and our men currently playing in India I can only think that they agreed to extend the pantomime season to show our opponents what it is like.
Our women have left lots to be desired with many thinking that they have to hit the cover off the ball from the first ball and never taking into consideration the vagaries of different wickets on different grounds etc.
OUr men are once again committing Hari Kari in India in the second T20. They play horrible shots and then shake their heads when they are bowled or caught. Gentlemen, it is you who have got yourself out by your own failure.

I honestly think that we have become victims of our own hype and need to get back to the basics.

Regrettably true Ashington, the women are miles off Australia and Alex Hartley’s criticism of them is spot on. As to the men we simply have no idea how to play and score runs off spin.

At least it's not proper cricket they're playing.

The big problem is, of course, that the ecb have put all their eggs in the slogging basket as they are blinded by the money. So, at the expense of text cricket, we have managed to become mediocre at the format we excelled at.

The women need to get fitter but you are judging them against the world champions away from home in heat they won't find comfortable.

The men spread themselves out too much hunting pound signs.

Exactly this.
