Chance to go joint top - don’t lay a glove

As much as I love the defensive record and allow the 5-0 against Plymouth once again it’s just tedious at home.
We looked terrified of Leeds on the counter and offered absolutely nothing in front of goal.
Season destined to lose in the playoffs because whoever finishes 3rd ain’t going up.

It’s the same old story though isn’t it. Not enough up top, it’s nothing new. We need to bring somebody in this window. I’d have 100% taken a point before the game.

We didn't even try to lay a glove. You could see the Intent within 30 seconds when Anthony refused to go and join a press so he could stay compact with the midfield.
Leeds aren't great away from home and will have been nervous coming into this. We really should have gone for the throat but unfortunately that's not the way this manager likes to do things.
We deserved to lose today after setting up with such a lack of ambition.

It happens a lot in the premier league, when two top teams play each other they cancel each other out.The way I see it out of the top 4 we have Sheffield Utd to play now at home. Our fixture run is great now utc.

I think some people would genuinely prefer to be a mid-table side with Roy of the Rover's stuff every week.
We played a good team; it's a fine point - we just need to turn it on as we did against Plymouth in the next run of games.
It's a marathon, not a sprint.

When Dyche was here he knew the sides limitations and played accordingly,SP knows we haven’t the players to go toe to toe with an attacking team so set up not to lose,if Kompany had been here Leeds would have battered us.

Would you say 4 points against the team at the top of the league, with the best squad in the league by far, is a bad return?

Modern football is just absolutely shite. There have been many, many mundane performances from us this season but that second half has finished me off. Not a single shot at goal in 45 minutes.

I'd rather be in touching distance, 3pts behind, than 6pts behind having gone for it.
After these next 6 games we may well be closer to, if not in front of Leeds and Sheffield, let's wait and see

You wont see a better defensive performance all season from anyone in the Championship. Their bench was stronger than our forward line. Two defeats from a side cobbled together last August and people are being critical of our achievements, saying we should have gone all out-thats how you lose against Leeds. Now for a nice run of easy games. Well done the lads. Would have taken a point at 8.00pm

Dyche teams always had an attacking threat whether it be set pieces or direct balls on to strikers trying to break an offside trap. The opposition were never completely safe.
I'm not sure what we are actually trying to do attacking wise. We don't look to get people in behind, rarely look to cross it. The only consistent attacking threat is the switch out to Anthony.

How many games at the top of the PL table have been cagey 0-0 affairs like that in recent years? Happens all the time!

VK promotion side got a hell of a lot more point bs the Top 6 than SP will.
2 draws and a loss. Won the rest.

So 2 games? Every team has a tough run over Christmas. Our lack of attacking intent has nothing to do with that period.

Much as I'm disappointed I'd rather have kept it tight and kept the gap to Leeds to 3 points than taken a gamble and risked making it 6.
And I'd rather have our upcoming fixtures than theirs.

Where is Tresor, I hope he's being fined if he's refusing to play.
We need better attacking players that's pretty obvious.

Leeds were marginally better than us - we certainly didn't deserve to win. Great save by Trafford to secure another home point.
We need more energy from our wide players, more movement going forward and a focal point to our attack. Our set piece play is abysmal, even our restarts from throw-ins is poor. What are we doing all week in training, mastering the back pass? We have Trafford, Esteve and Egan-Riley to thank for our lofty position in the league. Our incredible defensive record continues but we are hard to watch. UTC

They’ll come unstuck against lesser opposition where we won’t

you'll struggle to find a team in the bottom 3 give the ball away as much as both sides tonight. So many basic unforced errors.

We don't have the squad to go gung ho 0-90. We'd be lower playoffs at best.
Look at our bench tonight vs Leeds'... SP is doing a top job given the circumstances.
