A bit groundhog day I'm afraid, but four points from Leeds over a season is still pretty good.

1 shot on target by both teams says it all. Our mindset from the outset was to primarily stop Leeds, which I’m ok with, but 9 0-0’s is now becoming a bit of a joke. I think the vast majority will let this result slide because of the opposition, but we simply have to start scoring more goals. No excuses moving forward.

Trafford 7 - did what was needed
Roberts 8 - handled Soloman well, and, to be fair, easily
Egan-Riley 9 - extra mark for using some initiative near the end a couple of times to break forward.
Esteve 9* - imperious, just a couple of minor errors, but far too good for that rabble tonight
Humphreys 8 - handled the dangerous James well
Anthony 7 - best of the attacking players and diligent defensively
Cullen 7 - some very tidy mopping up and a crucial block
Laurent 6 - a solid effort but was at the limit of his ability
Brownhill 6 - the only one to keep trying to speed it up but it never came off
Foster 5 - was a bit hamstrung tactically, told to track Bogle not to stay up and make Bogle think twice
Flemming 5 - couple of poor headers from rare chances
I won’t criticise Parker for this one unlike the lower league cannon fodder.
It was obvious it was deliberate to take a draw unless we got a lucky break.
He is probably right. Pisses me off a bit that I didn’t attend as a STH because I knew this was the outcome. But we are now through our really tough run and on the shoulder of the leaders. We are right where he wants us to be. 17 games to go, few difficult, I think he expects 40 points now and a 97 point title win. He won’t admit this. I have a feeling he is about to pull a transfer rabbit out, and we will ease away.
So I cannot be critical, just bored.

Mind numbing stuff yet again at home and another 90 minutes passes by without the opposition keeper having to make a save. . Thought the Plymouth victory might be a turning point attacking wise. Least we keep loads of clean sheets though something to look back on in years to come.

Glass Half Full. Yet another clean sheet. No goals conceded vs Leeds. Point gained on Sunderland/Sheff Utd. Tough run is over.
Glass Half Empty. Absolute mind-numbing stuff. No shots or intent to shoot. Only ambition was to not lose. 4th 0-0 in 5 home games.
Is Shelvey fit? We can't get 10-15 minutes out of him? I'm not sure why we've brought Barnes back.

Need to be doing more at home in the coming games. They’re obviously a threat but they weren’t that good. What really frustrates me is when we did get further forward, how slowly the team got up the pitch. Brownhill has to offer more in big games too.

A non event of a game which had a satisfactory outcome and showed our defensive solidity whilst also highlighting again our lack of threat in the final third.
Trafford - 7 - not much goalkeeping to do but he was very sure tonight with ball at feet, particularly his decision making.
Roberts - 8 - managed Solomon really well and used the ball better than most.
Humphreys- 6 - stuck to his task against James and did OK without looking convincing, but his use of the ball lacked composure at times.
Egan Riley - 8 - a couple of slightly shaky moments but recovered well and used the ball effectively.
Esteve- 9 - absolutely imperious.
Cullen - 8 - not able to dictate the game as he does at his best but composed when he did get it and did the hard graft well.
Laurent - 5 - worked hard and gave us presence but looked a notch below the required standard in possession.
Brownhill- 6 - much like Laurent although he showed a touch more quality and drive in possession before he was crocked. Hopefully it was just a knock.
Anthony- 7 - a useful outlet in the first half when he showed good quality to beat his man a few times but quieter after the break and ended up giving some silly fouls away.
Foster- 5 - one terrific cross in the first half and worked back diligently but if he's playing on the left he has to be a wide forward not a wide midfielder. Tonight he was asked to be the latter and it didn't work.
Flemming - 5 - a few flashes of link up play but he again struggled to impose himself physically and when he did find space on the half turn, he lacked composure. The fact he finished the game didn't say much about Parker's confidence in Rodriguez or Barnes.
Sarmiento- 5 - not for the first time recently his arrival made us less effective and he struggledto get into the game.
A forgettable game that both sides were happy to play out as a draw. Conditions didn't help but neither side, and particularly Burnley, wanted to risk losing the game in order to win it and it felt as though Parker settled for a point well before the end of the game. Perhaps on the night that was fair enough but once again the slickness and sense of purpose Leeds showed in attack was in contrast to our more pedestrian efforts and we spent long periods on the back foot. We defended well but it wasn't obvious how we intended to hurt them and Foster in particular found himself doing a disciplined defensive shift at the expense of his natural attacking inclination.
But tough watch though it was, we're through that tough spell with 57 points from 29. That's a sound effort and sets us up well to fight it out down the straight - provided we can find more cutting edge when the onus is on us to win.

What this game showed is that this league is there for the taking with the squad we have, we just need to start going for it more and being less cautious. It’s Leeds will be happier with a point, given that’s exactly what they came for but for us it’s another home game where there’s zero excitement, nothing to get anyone out of their seat, just two of the best teams in the division cancelling each other out.
Nothing we didn’t already know but this just reinforced that none of the teams who get promoted this season will be troubling premier league teams next year.
Trafford 7 another clean sheet with nothing non-routine to do
Roberts 8 spent a lot of time as one our furthest men forward and only once did we find him. Kept his man quiet as well.
Egan-Riley 8 solid, good driving forward at the end
Esteve 9 miles above the level of any other player in this division
Humphreys 8 dealt very well with Boyle and James, with very little help from Foster
Cullen 7 metronome
Laurent 6 alright in a stifling midfield battle
Brownhill 6 same
Anthony 8 put in a hell of a shift tonight, not everything came off for him but he tried more than anyone to make things happen in an attacking sense
Foster 4 let Bogle run off him constantly in the first half and barely saw the ball going forward
Flemming 5 tbf he had two arms around him for 90% of the game but more of an issue was how he kept dropping in leaving us with no one getting into the box when we got forward
Leeds are really no great shakes, to say they’re top. Totally their for the taking this league but attacking improvement needs to start immediately.

2 teams determined not to lose and both came away with what they clearly wanted. I thought Sunderland looked better than Leeds offensively and looked far more likely to breach our amazing defence, but at the same time we looked as "powder puff" against Leeds as we have against so many far worse teams at home. Ultimately we're a really, really good team, but are we a top 2 side? I've said it before, nope, imo we're not.

From tv
Trafford 7 one good save
Roberts 7 good defensive display and tried to get forward
CJ 8 kept their strikers quiet
Esteve 9 it’s crazy that I keep voting for centre back as mom every home game
Humphreys 6 struggled to pass to a claret shirt but did well against a James
Brownhill 5 one good game, one bad game
Cullen 7 he recycled the ball well, he was part of the sideways sideways plan
Laurent 5 looked uninterested in the more defensive role and gave the ball aware more than finding a claret shirt
Anthony 6 some decent touches but he drifts out of games too easily
Flemming 7 at least he had two attempts, though neither on target
Foster 5 doesn’t look happy playing out wide
Sarmiento 4 does he ever touch the ball when he comes on
Parker 5 far too negative from his team tonight...too many backward and sideways passes, always passing behind the man and not into space, far to negative overall, we looked like we didn’t want to win from the kick.
It’s a point from another negative performance at home, I’m bloody glad I’m not a season ticket holder this season, it’s all very frustrating.

Trafford - 7. Did what was asked of him
Roberts- 7. Thought he did pretty well against a lively winger in Solomon
CJ- 8* motm. Close call but only because he seemed to find a man more than Esteve.
Esteve- 8. Usual performance
Humphreys- 6. Struggled a bit first half with ball in behind due to lack of support but had to make a decision to stick or twist before the 41st minute.
Cullen- 7. Good on the ball. Got stuck in and gets us going. The real captain
Laurent- 6. Sloppy with the ball but is the enforcer of the three
Brownhill- 4. Anonymous. Say what you want about him maybe playing out of position. It’s happened far too often that he goes missing in games like this and in effect means we play a man light. Not good enough to do what is being asked of him.
Anthony- 6. Quiet night I thought
Flemming- 6. Got bullied a bit off their centre halves
Foster- 4. Just not at the races first half
Sarmiento- 5. Pretty much anonymous but did win a couple of good challenges

Nothing whatsoever stuck up top where Flemming got completely bullied and failed to even compete for anything in the air. Our midfield seemed to constantly misplace the ball in the final third and out wide we were lopsided with Foster, one great cross in the first half aside, having virtually no attacking impact. Our defence was magnificent (again).

There's some really odd comments doing the rounds tonight. I can't deny it was a borefest, but that wasn't all our doing. Parker and Farke both set up to not lose. Leeds were slightly less toothless than us, and that shows a mutual respect between the managers. I thought both teams set up well and nullified each other for the whole game. There were individual issues on both sides, and neither centre forward got a kick, which goes along way towards the game ending nil nil. It was a win for catenaccio football!!
Trafford 7 - nothing to do, decent distribution
Roberts 7 - started slow but put in a good shift against a good winger
Humphries 7 - passing wasn't the best but put in a good shift against a good winger
Esteve 9 - outstanding performance. I lose count of the number of times he cleans up a potentially dangerous situation with absolute ease
CJ 8 - another terrific performance
Cullen 7 - sideways and backwards, but moved the ball well
Laurent 6 - a bit on the periphery
Brownhill 6 - as Laurent, but our lack of control in the final third did as much to nullify him as Leeds. He's a player who comes to life when we play on the front foot, which we most certainly didn't do tonight.
Anthony 7 - worked his socks off and was the only one who looked likely
Foster 4 - should have been hooked after about 20 minutes. It's ok looking good against Reading and Plymouth, but this is a different test. He gave Bogle the freedom of the Turf in the first half and went back into his shell after mis-controlling a simple pass from Cullen. He offered no attacking threat and left Humphries on his own time and again, especially in the first half
Flemming 5 - can't fault his work rate but he spent more time playing the centre half than he did playing the ball. Nothing stuck, his link up play was non existent, and his ridiculous pot-shot in the first half sums him up. We would have been better with Barnes or Jay up top for the last 20-25, as he was clearly knackered!
Sarmiento 4 - did he touch the ball?
