Sarmiento
Surely he was not a Scott Parker signing. Nothing about him fits into this system. I think he’d have flourished under Kompany. I don’t have a clue what his best position is.
Re: Sarmiento
The ultimate flatter to deceive player. Takes too many touches, makes 0 penetrative runs off the ball, doesn't create anything with his passing or crossing, can't really beat men. Send him back and get someone in that's useful.

Re: Sarmiento
He is one I think just isn't worthy of a spot in the 11 atm. To play him in the 10 instead of flemming is just daft. I would've even preferred Anthony in the 10 and Benson wide right

Re: Sarmiento
Mr invisible. It's like playing with 10 men when he's on the pitch.
Re: Sarmiento
Harsh to single out any attacking player when they're playing under the instructions they're getting from our head coach.
He looked like he was growing into the number 10 role before his injury at Norwich, but since then he's been very poor I'll admit. We're just not set up to score a goal. Nobody makes a run ahead of the ball so every pass comes backwards.

Re: Sarmiento
Much, much too lightweight, and whats his role in the team?. Prefer Hannibal to him every time because of the effort Hannibal puts in. For me today Shelvey should have started instead of Sarmiento-we lacked control of the ball in midfield.

Re: Sarmiento
Literally what the Ipswich fans said about him - better off the bench, never does anything when he starts.............and that was in a side that scored NINETY TWO goals
Re: Sarmiento
Should be a squad player, no more. Same with Anthony. Neither get on Leeds’ bench.
Re: Sarmiento
Not sure just how you know what instructions the players are getting? Also, don't talk cr*p saying every pass comes backwards!ksrclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:15 pmHarsh to single out any attacking player when they're playing under the instructions they're getting from our head coach.

Sarmiento scored goals that won points for Ipswich and ultimately promotion
Playing off the wing cutting in and shooting is his best position

Bar one game (baggies away) and one goal earlier in the season, he's been awful.

Cut our losses and end his loan. Not good enough.

Re: Sarmiento
Kompany signed Zaroury, Benson and Tella. Parker signed Anthony, Flemming and Sarmiento. That is the key difference between two seasons

Re: Sarmiento
Harsh just to pick out Sarmiento today. There were so many poor performances on show. Roberts, Pires, Foster and an increasingly looking tired Anthony in the 2nd half. Another utterly boring experience of watching the ball going backwards and sideways in order to gain a few yards. Portsmouth are a poor team, 52 goals conceded tells you that but at least they looked like they were trying to score a goal. And still a goalscorer has been and still appears to be low down on our list of priorities. Incredible.

Wasn’t working from very early on with him in there. Parker kept them in the same positions again though. Should have out him wide left until half time then hooked him

Re: Sarmiento
There are a few occasions where a backwards pass isn’t on and we are forced to go forward.

Re: Sarmiento
He’s been poor, no doubt.
But maybe, just MAYBE, he would be better if he had teammates around him taking risks, making forward runs into space so he can find them……
Everything is static and safe from this manager.

Pot calling the kettle black ! Remember this response of yours to someone on another thread- You've got to pick an agenda and make an arse of yourself by defending it no matter wha.
Now that's unpleasant!
And still waiting for a response queryng your statement that every one of our passes was backwards!
Re: Sarmiento
Lol Pete. I think you need to revisit that post of mine you've searched for to see the context. Enjoy your journey home.Leisure wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:55 pmPot calling the kettle black ! He'll be plastered if his been on the booze all day for the trip to Portsmouth so just try and ignore him. I'll start taking everything he's says on here 100% literally and see how that works out for him

Re: Sarmiento
I don’t know where he is on loan from, but he needs to go back as soon as possible. I had totally forgotten he was in team until I saw him standing near the ball at a free kick to us at the beginning of the second half. What a waste of space!

Shite today, but is generally one of our more dangerous players.
Which isn’t saying much, mind.

Apologise for what? Calling you out for saying every pass was backwards (which was blatantly untrue)!
